The Kilauea Caldera is a massive crater encircled by plumes of sulfuric smoke, and the signs of lava destruction are everywhere. The lava flows are constantly shifting, and our tour takes you as close as possible to see them. On our tour, you will walk through an actual lava tube which include extensive lava flows and Hawaii's unique black sand beaches. Later, you’ll pass through lush rainforest as our guide points out many native tropical plants, such as red ginger and ginseng. Our tours take in 10 major Hilo attractions ensuring you have a spectacular day in Hilo. « less

We were picked up in the port by Cindy, she drove us outside the port and switched us to a smaller van. This van they say is a 14 passenger van, might be 14 passenger for kids, but not for adults cruising. Needless to say, we could not fit into this van, so we were given the opportunity to rent... We were a group of tourists under a company sponsored trip in Hawaii. We went for a visit to the National Volcano park on the big island of Hawaii on Sep 29, 2013. The scenes in the park and at the waterfalls are gorgeous. We were so lucky to have Mr. Grant from Kapoho Kine Adventures as our guide throughout... More

I was concerned about taking this tour on the last day of my big island visit regarding my luggage. The shuttle bus had a locking compartment in the back of the bus for luggage - no reason for concern! I would recommend bringing a buttpack with a few drinks and snacks because this is a long, relaxing, scenic day. Don't... More

We were so impressed with our Hilo tour. We were on a cruise ship, so we only had a limited amount of time to spend on shore. The itineray we had covered the volcanos, lava tube, a waterfall, the black sand beach, orchid and japaneese gardens and big island candies and mauno lau nut factory. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable... More

It was an awe inspiring experience to see the volcano crater from several locations.Other parts of the tour such as the Macadamia factory, Orchid displays, waterfall and black sand beaches were OK but its the volcano, lava tube and lava flows(solidified) which make this tour.It is a long day with an early pick up and quite a late flight back. Our flight was... We started our excursion on a tour bus taking us to their Volcano National park. We truly saw an amazing site with an acutual active volcano. During the day it is all steam and at night you see the lava flow. They have a museum on this location, where you can actually see the different forms of lava rock and... More

Expensive, but it's really worth it!!! A fantastic show of the nature that I'll bring in my eyes and in my heart for all my life. Something that you can't find in other places in the world, if you visit Hawaii you can't miss it!

Big Volcano National Park and Waterfall tour was a great day out. Seeing the active craters was great and very interesting. The Lava tube Caves were fantastic. Our driver for the day was very knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be an awesome day. There was about 12 people on our trip... More

The rainbow falls stop was beautiful but chances of seeing a rainbow are like odds of hitting the lottery. But going to the volcano and seeing the active crater, the steam tubes and lava tubes are beyond words. If you come to Hilo and don't do this, you have missed a thrill of a life time. A camera must.

When planning the tour of Volcano National Park and Waterfalls tours, beware of this tour offered by Hawaii Cruise Excursions. In fact, not only beware of them--I would avoid them at all cost. They are a non-full disclosure company. In fact, they seemed to be a mom-and-pop operation that sub-contracts out their tours...My wife and I booked their tour several... More
