Really recommend taking the helicopter without the doors on to fly over the volcano and the incredible extent of lava - truly amazing to see how far it has flown and hard to believe how close people live to it. Pilot's commentary was very good and everything about the trip was both fun and safe.

I really enjoyed this trip. Mom and I chose this company because they are the only heli tour that has a doors off experience. They are very safety conscious and want you to have to best tour available. It did take us 3 tries to get into the air due to weather conditions but appreciated their attempt to accommodate us.... I was traveling with my husband, two teenage grandchildren, and their parents. We debated not doing the helicopters because it is very costly; however, we decided it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially for my husband and I. My husband wanted to go no doors for better photo ops. Since only four could fit, my daughter went... More

What an incredible experience! This is a must do and a great company. We did the doors off ride and hands down that is THE way to go!!! Feeling the wind up high, being able to see the lava flow with no window obstructions!!! Rob was our pilot and he was fantastic!! He made sure both the right and left... More

My girlfriend and I did the Doors off Experience on the 45 minute volcanoes and waterfalls extreme tour with this company, and it was a true highlight of our time in Hawaii. Our pilot, Pete, was very good at narrating throughout the entire tour, and had a great sense of humor which made us all laugh. We did see lava... More

This is a small venue with the helicopter seating only 4 passengers plus the pilot. We sat in the front with the doors off. The view of the active lava flow was fantastic with the smells of sulfur and burning vegetation and feel of the heat adding to the sensory experience. This is the only way to see both the... More

We took the 45-minute doors-off helicopter ride around the volcano. It was an amazing way to see the scope of the eruption. We flew over the caldera and saw several spots of hot lava and places where the lava was igniting the surrounding forests in a slow-motion burn. Our pilot was very skilled and knowledgable. Doors-off was a little freaky,... More

Dan was an excellent pilot and guide. The ride was smooth, and everyone got their eyes full . The staff was friendly, warm and outgoing. Everyone seemed to have a smile on their face even when they were working away from the customers. Terrific atmosphere. Thank you all so much for creating a wonderful memory for our family. I couldn't... More

We took the Magnum P.I. Helicopter over the active volcano with the doors off. Great flight. It is 50 degrees up there, so wear a jacket, jeans and closed shoes. 110 MPH wind outside the chopper. It is an hour and a half drive from Kona and Waikaloa. Well worth the trip! Great service and felt very safe.

This is definitely the way to see the volcanoes. Why waste your time driving into the park when you can go up in the air and literally be looking straight into the smokey crater and see lava. It's expensive but worth it. And this company was great.
