Steve was our tour guide and he was incredibly informative-- which is exactly what I was looking for. I loved that we got to tour through the museum before going on the ride and we stopped of lunch at an incredibly scenic place. You do need to make sure that you are able to ride up hills-- there are a... More

Volcano was our favorite spot on the big island, and doing the bike tour really helped us see a lot of the park that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our guide was very knowledgeable, a geology major who kept everyone laughing. What I liked most about this tour was that they had a van slowly follow the bikes as we... More

We had a nice bike tour of the Hawaii Volcano National Park. The company picked us up right on schedule at the pier for transportation to the park. The ride was 45 minutes and Steve our tour guide gave us tips of what to do in the area. We had a wonderful time on the bike trip, with plenty of... More

We had one full day on the Hilo side of the island to begin our vacation, booked a bike tour more than one month in advance, with the understanding that a minimum number of participants were required. The company confirmed 48 hours in advance that we were good to go, only to call again the day before - while we... More

The reviewer placed their reservation online with the knowledge that their desired tour date had not been confirmed as the minimum 6 participant requirement had not been met. All Bike Volcano reservations are 100% refundable if cancellations are received prior to the 48 hour period of their tour date. If we receive a cancellation that effects the tour minimum we... More

Incredible staff! They have thought of everything. Steve the guide was full of helpful info and very knowledgeable. However, the 10 AM to 3 PM tour was well over $125 and we did not feel it was worth that much. Anything we saw we could have seen hiking or by car. The lunch was average. When I asked for an... More

I very much enjoyed the tour and our guide, Steve. We learned a lot about the volcano and how it is constantly changing. I was hoping for a little more biking, and to get closer to the lava flow, but I guess with the time constraints and the desire to appeal to a wider audience (and I mean that both... More

My wife and I went on the 10am to 1pm volcano summit bike tour on 1-17-2013 on the Big Island of Hawaii and really enjoyed it. The equipment was in excellent condition and they had good breaks which was my biggest priority. My wife decided to drive in the Van due to a earlier injury from a Kayaking tour the... More

Was looking so forward to this bike trip booked well in advance. However the company cancelled on us since there were only two of us (we had prepaid and everything). As she pointed out to us, this is their prerogative to do, but it gave us no time to book an alternative. I'd go with a different company...

My family visited Hawaii for the first time but we only had a few days on Hawaii. My sister and I urgently wanted to do a bicycle tour. This is not for hardcore cyclists as you'll be on hybrid comfort bikes ; however, the views are spectacular to the point of being surreal. Our guides were young and very enthusiastic... More

As I love biking I thought touring the volcano by bike would be a good idea. However, I was a little bit disappointed as the biking was very limited. We where only biking very short stints at limited speeds between each stop and 95% of it was on paved roads (whereof most the main car roads), so the tour could... More
