Our first time to fly in a helicopter so we were quite apprehensive, but Paul is not just an expert pilot, he is also an excellent narrator and tour guide for our approx 50 minute flight over the Big Island volcanoes. This is absolutely the best way to see the volcanoes as some of the sights are not just physically... More

We had our first helicopter ride over the volcano on Big Island with Safari Helicopters. Note, they are located at the commuter terminal which is not the main terminal at Hilo airport (but right next to it in a separate building). They have a limited amount of parking but it is free. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tour was excellent,... More

Our family of four took the Deluxe tour. We booked with Safari based on their price and their safety record. I am a nervous flyer and frankly wasn't looking forward to being in a helicopter. However the flight was so smooth and comfortable I really enjoyed it. The pilot, Paul, was knowledgeable and experienced, and his commentary throughout was excellent.... More

Safari Helicopters is a smaller outfit than some of the larger companies but I see that as a plus. The customer service on the phone and over email were great and helpful. The heli ride itself was awesome. We got to see Pahoa and where the latest lava flow has wreaked havoc as well as all over Volcano Nat'l Park.... More

Safari had the lowest fares but what swayed our ultimate choice is that they the best safety record of big island heli-tour companies. For 50 minutes in the air, it was an excellent value! Saw the lava flow (though mostly cooled, still some red-flowing breakouts in one location) that was threatening the town of Pahola and flew directly over the... More

We are really enjoying the first time helicopter flight! They did the great job. Our pilot shows us the amazing view of volcano. It is an impressive experience.

Go JT! what a great tour guide! Knowledgable and informative about the area! to see the lava flow, and snow on the mountain top was amazing! I was able to get great pictures, and the Pilot made sure that both sides got a great view. Seeing waterfalls from that view was amazing, too.

Thank you Safari Helicopter Tours for giving our kids a great first helicopter flight! They had an amazing time and it was a highlight of our trip for both of them. When it became evident that we would not be able to go on the same flight with them, your staff was helpful in directing us to a tour service... More

We took a heli tour of the volcano with Safari yesterday and had a spectacular flight. We all had great seats and our pilot ensured that he flew around each sight so we all had great opportunities to take pictures. Our pilot, Gardiner, was informative, answered all our questions and was exactly what we expected a pilot to be, competent,... More
