This was our second visit to the Big Island and had planned on doing a helicopter tour. After we arrived we started doing our research on companies and pricing. Safari was by far the best priced tour for the waterfall and volcano tour, sometimes cheaper means less quality but NOT in this case. We checked other reviews and all were... More

Five of us took the Volcano tour. We had the Helicopter to ourselves. Captain Tom was the best. He answered all our questions and added narrative about the area and the Volcano. He took us to any spot we wanted to go. It was cloudy with a little rain, but it made the Lava flow stand out. He took us... More

We paid £280 pounds for myself and my wife to do the volcano and waterfall tour and it was worth every penny. The scenery was amazing and flying over the active vent of the volcano was just something else. The pilot gardener has an excellent set of hands on him and pilots the aircraft in such a way that all... More

This was the most affordable helicopter tour we could find of the volcano. It wasn't cheap but was worth every penny. Our pilot was really friendly. We got really lucky and had the sky to ourselves and didn't have to take turns with other helicopters to view the volcano. We saw some amazing lava glow.

My husband and I took the Deluxe waterfalls and volcanoes tour. We were extremely impressed with the tour! We were given a safety briefing prior to the tour. The pilot was extremely smooth during the flight. We got to see some amazing views. We saw some lava flow that was absolutely breathtaking. The only downside of the tour was that... More

We took the Deluxe Volcano tour (lava tree forests, craters, and waterfalls) on May 21, 2015. Overall it was great even during partly cloudy/very light rain mist weather. Our pilot, Gardner, was excellent by making it a smooth ride and circling the sites a few times for picture/video taking. He answered all our questions about the volcano, the neighborhoods affected... More

We'd heard from many people that the one thing we had to do in Hawaii was to go on a helicopter tour. We checked out all the companies providing tours and Safari was the cheapest. Neither my husband nor myself had ever been on a helicopter before, so we were a little nervous. But once we got in the chopper... More

Heights are not my thing. My wife wanted to see the lava flows on Kilauea. She wanted to go on one of the tours with open doors. I wanted closed doors and an inside seat. She got to cross off seeing Kilauea and riding on a helicopter from her bucket list. I got to live to see another day. Seriously,... More

We (2 adults, 1 4 year old child) booked the deluxe volcano tour and went on the 50 minute, 2:30 pm flight last week. The weather was cloudy in Hilo with scattered showers between the airport and the Pu'u fissure, west of Pahoa. When booking with Safari rather than other carriers - we had flown with Blue Hawaiian in Maui... More

If this customer flew with Blue Hawaiian they would have experienced the same constraints at a higher cost per person than Safari. The National Park is very restrictive on where any aerial sightseeing tour is allowed to fly. We are restricted from the Kilauea crater area due aerial noise where the general public is concentrated. In addition, the National Park... More

The rain broke just in time for our trip. The volcano was an amazing sight and you got a real good idea of the power of nature. Capt. Gardner was very knowledgable and gave a good commentary. We loved it and would highly recommend Safari. Thanks so much for making the long drive so worthwhile.
