Nice waterfall within very easy reach of Hilo

Rainbow falls is nowhere near as big as Akaka falls, but it's still worth seeing and is very easy to see from Hilo.

A lovely waterfall on the outskirts of Hilo, it offered an easily accessible viewing area. There is plenty of parking, and a trail to the top of the falls for the more adventuring. A worthwhile stop whilst touring the island.

I have not been to rainbow falls for decades so I decided to visit. Not much except it is close to Hilo so maybe lot of locals visit it. I will pick Akaka falls any day

Unfortunately, no rainbow striking the falls when we visited. Still a beautiful view. Took as part of tour from cruise ship.

This is an easy to reach waterfall. The views are spectacular and you can walk to the top and look it over. You can also wander through a huge banyan tree.

Short walk to view. Very pretty water fall with good location in the town of Hilo. Not as large as I had expected and probably larger ones on the island to see,

Just outside the town of Hilo, this place has beautiful scenery. It's a short trip, and requires a short time to explore. You can spend more time, and do some hiking to the top of the falls, but it is worth it whenever/ however you go.

Stopped and walked to viewpoint with great view of falls. Disappointed that area was closed off to more extensive hiking nearer the falls.

This doesn't require gobs of time. We enjoyed the view from the overlook and then enjoyed it more when we took the walking path up the hill and out on to the lava rocks. Very pretty, Ya can't beat free!

These falls are beautiful. We followed a gps activated tour to see this and more in the Hilo area. The rainbows are best appreciated in the morning...we missed that but the falls were still beautiful.
