Pretty waterfalls

We were lucky enough to see these and the Boiling Pot Falls up the road after heavy rainfall and they were worth the visit. Very pretty and accessible.

Whenever we are in Hilo, we make a quick stop at Rainbow Falls. There is nothing super special about it, but it's very convenient. Just park the car and it's pretty much right there. Nice, quick photo op. I've been there when there wasn't much water in the falls (during the summer), and when there was a lot of water... More

I really liked these falls a bit smaller than Akala Falls but, very nice and there are also the boiling pots that the water goes into. A great photo opportunity.

These falls are pretty but best viewed in the sun! Unfortunately it was chucking it down in the morning during our short visit so no chance of a rainbow.

We arrived late morning, so missed the rainbow, however it had been raining a TON and the falls were flowing perfectly. Enough for a dramatic rush of water, as well as being able to see the split into two falls. Not a hiking trail, but more of a scenic overlook and viewing area in front of the falls and just... More

Easy access to one of the many beautiful waterfalls on the east side of Hawaii. They have paved the trail since I was here 10 years ago which makes it nicer for the elderly, and small children

Having previously seen them from a helicopter, I was a bit disappointed. But easy to get to....as were the Akaka Falls.

Rainbow Falls is easily accessible to Hilo. There is parking and bathroom facilities. The falls are beautiful, but add the rainbow to it and it is absolutely breath-taking. I mean where can you see falls and a rainbow. The area is beautiful and the huge trees add to the experience.

We stopped at Rainbow Falls as part of a self guided driving tour of the island. It was easy to find and easily accessible by car.
