Just a beautiful rain forest, grounds are well kept, and you can do it on the Segways if you want. Dont forget the maze also!

The World Botanical Gardens is a fairly small garden that has a sample of pretty much anything you could find growing in Hawaii. It was nice to find out what everything I'd been seeing was! The garden tour is a very easy, walkable path so most anyone could do it. There is also a maze, which if fun (especially for... More

I had heard that there was a great botanical garden on the east side of the Big Island so when I drove past this place, and having seen one of their ad brochures, we stopped and decided to go in. I have to say, in my opinion, this was the worst mistake of my entire visit to the Big Island.... More

I was worried about this place after having read some of the negative reviews, people complaining about spiders in and outdoor environment and that the garden wasn't well manicured. This is a wild tropical environment. I took the Segway tour of the garden it was wonderful. The guide was very knowledgable about all the plants and gave me one really... More

Seeing this advertised in various brochures we expected a lot more. Having said that there was a nice walk, "Rainforest Walk" with various plants labeled. A drive to a waterfall that was nice and then the botanical gardens themselves. The garden was large w/ many different plants all labeled. We were underwhelmed w/ the maze. We were unable to do... We stopped by to explore the botanical gardens to see, learn about enjoy the various plants that grow on the Big Island. The grounds aren't in the best shape as it appeared that what was once a manacured pathway with signage to identify the various plants now grown over and unkept. We had the place to ourselves as nobody else... More

The gardens were very beautiful with extensive variety of plants. It was really fun trying to find our way out of the maze. It was part of our Groupon pass for zip lining and the Segway.

Maybe it was the time of year, January, but this was a huge disappointment. Grounds were poorly maintained and very few plants in bloom making it way overpriced. Better maze and garden at Dole Plantation. Portable toilets were messy. You can see much better examples of streams, falls and foliage by taking advantage of free island trails.
