We started our vacation with a guided trip directed by Dr. Lani, he personaly showed us around the local grounds and explianed all the plant life that surrounded the area. We would walk as he would explain to us what we were looking at, he even let us taste it if it was edible. He has an incredible wealth of... More

Aloha! Mahalo for coming to see us. We appreciate that you chose to be our guest in the gardens. We have recently made new efforts to improve the signage on the plants in the gardens. We have over 1,000 species identified and are adding to that list every day. It has been estimated (as the gardens was developing) that we... More

This is a relatively young garden area. To me, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens are a much better display of the flora and fauna. However, the staff here truly have embraced the aloha spirit and ideology. These are some of the nicest people we have met and they really want you to enjoy your experience and get the most out of... The World Botanical Gardens is a fairly small garden that has a sample of pretty much anything you could find growing in Hawaii. It was nice to find out what everything I'd been seeing was! The garden tour is a very easy, walkable path so most anyone could do it. There is also a maze, which if fun (especially for... More

I had heard that there was a great botanical garden on the east side of the Big Island so when I drove past this place, and having seen one of their ad brochures, we stopped and decided to go in. I have to say, in my opinion, this was the worst mistake of my entire visit to the Big Island.... More

We man the guest center throughout the day and are surprised if you didn't find someone there even if it were after closing. Our guest services stay after closing by some period. We want to... More

I was worried about this place after having read some of the negative reviews, people complaining about spiders in and outdoor environment and that the garden wasn't well manicured. This is a wild tropical environment. I took the Segway tour of the garden it was wonderful. The guide was very knowledgable about all the plants and gave me one really... More

Seeing this advertised in various brochures we expected a lot more. Having said that there was a nice walk, "Rainforest Walk" with various plants labeled. A drive to a waterfall that was nice and then the botanical gardens themselves. The garden was large w/ many different plants all labeled. We were underwhelmed w/ the maze. We were unable to do...
