I really enjoyed this place. They gave lots of samples and were very friendly. I love to buy local food to take home when on vacation. I get to enjoy the finds after the high of traveling has passed at home. The chocolate covered macadamias dipped in powder sugar are addictive. I bought some honey and coffee too. The people... This co-op is the oldest and largest Kona Coffee Cooperative in the US. Great gift shop where you can sample their coffee, chocolate, macadamias, fruit and ice cream; then buy some as souvenirs (dark chocolate and Hawaiian sea salt coated roasted macadamia nuts were just fab!) Plus learn more than you ever imagined about growing and grading coffee in their... More

This was one of the most authentic experiences we enjoyed on the island of Hawaii. We weren't headed there when we found it but we were very glad we stopped. The man running the store was extremely friendly and happy to share information about the products. We knew the different chocolate covered macadamia nuts we bought would be good because... More

On our way to the City of Refuge we saw this lovely rustic store that looks like what it is....a working co-operative where nuts, coffee, and various fruits are grown, processed and sold. We were warmly welcomed and offered generous samples of what they had to sale. It was ALL delicious! There was a small patio outside the store where... More

Enjoyed a great cup of coffee at KPFC. I had never had anyone warm up my "to go cup" actually helped keep my coffee hotter longer. Sotero was helpful and gave us a couple of treat samples which was very nice. Not only did we pick up some coffee but some macadamia treats to share. The garden behind the store... More

Now if you've followed our trip around the Hawaiian Islands, you'll know that "Holi-holi" in Hawaiian means to "wander around, with no real destination"! After we went to "Place of Refuge" we continued north on the same road (narrow / one lane at times road) that leads to a nice little bay side village (where Manini Beach is)...! Leaving there... My husband and I walked in the store. Their was only one other shopper. The man working the store immediately said "welcome " - help yourself to the FREE samples. When the man was finished helping the other customer, he came over to us and asked if we would like to sample some dried fruit? Sure. I'm not sure of... More
