Constructed in 1892, the Historic Sheridan Inn gave adventurous travelers a taste of Eastern luxury in the West. Through the years, the Inn has remained a hub of activity, offering elegant New Year's Eve balls and the town's first electric lights. Buffalo Bill Cody sat on the front porch of the Inn auditioning acts to join the "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show." The Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places. In October 2013, Bob and Dana Townsend became the newest owners of the Inn, bringing 21st century luxury to the 19th century building. The Inn is now open for overnight stays, banquets and tours. Lunch and dinner are also served in the Open Range Restaurant.

Each room is decorated to perfection. With the total renovation of the historic building you get the best combination of modern comfort with the authentic rustic experience. Kendall was delightful and extremely knowledgeable.

We stayed at the Inn one New Year's Eve. The Inn sat empty for 50 years, was lovingly restored and opened in 2015. The tiny 66 rooms have been converted to 22 and retain old Inn charm in the bathroom tiles, sinks and window seats, but great beds, sheets and fun rustic decor. Our headboard in the Alexander Majors room... More

Ate here with family at the Open Range Restaurant. Great American food. Our fourth visit and very consistent service and food. Had artichoke dip, caeser salad, and roasted chicken. Nice wine selection. Will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay in the Annie Oakley room, played checkers by the fireplace and enjoyed both the Buffalo Bill Bar and breakfast in the Ladies' Parlor. Very comfortable room.

Western charm, interesting history, gorgeous room, great restaurant. Our room was beautiful, one of a kind charm. Lobby had games and a fireplace, and the restaurant food was just delicious

While I was in Sheridan for business I wanted to take in some of the local history I'd read about. Having only enough time for one stop, I chose the Sheridan Inn and am so glad that I did! Loraine gave me a wonderful tour of the Inn and knew it's history inside and out. She told me about how... More

We came for a reception in the back area and loved it. The place has been restored and exudes history. The food at the reception was very good and acoustics were perfect. Wish we could have stayed a night here or eaten here but there just wasn't enough time.
