Description: Constructed in 1892, the Historic Sheridan Inn gave adventurous travelers...
Constructed in 1892, the Historic Sheridan Inn gave adventurous travelers a taste of Eastern luxury in the West. Through the years, the Inn has remained a hub of activity, offering elegant New Year's Eve balls and the town's first electric lights. Buffalo Bill Cody sat on the front porch of the Inn auditioning acts to join the "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show." The Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places. In October 2013, Bob and Dana Townsend became the newest owners of the Inn, bringing 21st century luxury to the 19th century building. The Inn is now open for overnight stays, banquets and tours. Lunch and dinner are also served in the Open Range Restaurant.

I enjoyed eating where Buffalo Bill once did! Atmosphere was lovely. The wood and mirror in the bar and surrounding tall antique buffets wwere gorgeous. Lunch was cold and had to be taken back to kitchen. Friendly staff. Outside of hotel was very pretty with a mlarge bronze statue of a man and woman dancing. Also a Teepee. No tours... More

Food is always nice. Iced tea is always colored water. So easy to make wonderful tea. I am never a silent complainer. Coffee drinkers are picky about the quality of their coffee, and so are iced tea lovers. Should never be held over.....so cheap to make....should never be refrigerated....boiled water and fresh teabags is a must. One glass of tea... More

Jill, your review was left on the Historic Sheridan Inn site. We do not sell tea or food. Your review would need to be left on the restaurant review page, Open Range. Open Range is not owned or operated by the Sheridan Inn. And your review will never be seen by them. This type of review makes the Historic Sheridan... More

We went to a Longmire event (conversation with Craig Johnson and some of the actors). It was a nice large room, comfortable temperature and very well done. The hotel lobby and outside grounds are well worth checking out too.

Carol, thank you for your kind words about the Historic Sheridan Inn, The Inn is the only property in Sheridan County on the Federal Historic Register. Since the property has been reopened the reviews of the hotel have exceeded our expectations. Once again, thank you. More

A must see when you stop in Sheridan. Great lobby; I loved the old fashioned mail box slots for guests.

9:15pm I order a glass of wine and a beer to take to our room, bar tender proceeds to pull out plastic cups. I explain that we are guests at hotel and request normal glasses. Waitress appears from behind me and explains I am lucky that I am being served at all at this hour. It's 9:15pm! I leave. I... More

Lots of food for the buck!!! Portions were huge. Food was good, but service was a bit slow, but the place was very busy.

Kudos to the owners on a job well done renovating this historic hotel. Lots of great history, the rooms are done with high quality furnishings, and each room is named and designed after different historical people who had some history with the Inn back in the days of Buffalo Bill Cody. Definetly a place to stay especially if you want... More

We were told this Hotel had just re-opened in May 2015. We were fascinated to learn that we were sitting at the original Bill Cody Bar (circa 1893). Our bar tender was attentive and informative.

Checked in this afternoon, beautifully renovated hotel with much history. Enjoying watching a thunderstorm from the lobby after a wonderful dinner at the associated restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend a night here.,
