On October 25, 2013, Bob and Dana Townsend became the newest owners of the Sheridan Inn, a National Historic Landmark built in 1893 and famous for hosting Buffalo Bill Cody. Restoration work began immediately. The first floor of the Inn is open and is currently available for banquets. At this time, the restaurant, museum and 7 guest rooms are scheduled to open in 2014. Nestled at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, the Historic Sheridan Inn provides both Old West charm and Victorian elegance.

New owners!

So excited to see what the new owners are doing with the place. Nice to have it open for tours again, and for a new restaurant to be there!

Run by Buffalo Bill Cody for a couple of years in the late 1800's and currently being restored in grand fashion, the entire building will transport you to another era! The restaurant has the original bar and served the best hand-packed bison burger I've ever eaten. Because it was Cody's birthday, we got a tour of the rooms before opening!... More

This is truly an historical landmark that warrants a visit when ever you are in Sheridan, Wyoming. A picture into the old west, Can`t wait to return and stay in one of the rooms once it is opened to stay

Beautiful old Inn, hope the society can find enough money to re-open the hotel. Bar is open and serves food. Guided tours too.

This hotel and dance hall was recently purchased and is under renovation. There are tours being given by a group of charming elderly women. The bar is authentic old west as is the front desk. We were able to look at the bedroom suites upstairs that are being renovated. This place went from 60 some rooms to 23. Each suite... More

A beautiful hotel in the center of town -- a real step back in time. Enjoy the sculpture on the front lawn as well!

We're glad you enjoyed your step back in time. That is our mission with the Inn. We want to offer 21st century guests a taste of 19th century charm. More

This is the prettiest building in Sheridan! Nicely kept, and well maintained landscaping. This would be an awesome venue for weddings and such. Even if you aren't going to have an event, stop by and look at this amazing building!! There is a lot of history that goes with it as well! Wild Bill Hickok owned this for a short... More
