On October 25, 2013, Bob and Dana Townsend became the newest owners of the Sheridan Inn, a National Historic Landmark built in 1893 and famous for hosting Buffalo Bill Cody. Restoration work began immediately. The first floor of the Inn is open and is currently available for banquets. At this time, the restaurant, museum and 7 guest rooms are scheduled to open in 2014. Nestled at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, the Historic Sheridan Inn provides both Old West charm and Victorian elegance.

One feels connected to Wyoming's past after a night in this great spot. This place is not for you if you have to have a television, high flow shower, bland breakfast and are too used to the typical American hotel. However, if you savor staying in places with character and charm, you will more than enjoy yourself here. Bed is... More

Amazing historical atmosphere! Love the food.. We come each year on our annual visit so our grandchildren can say they've eaten there and get their picture taken on the front porch.

This hotel is only recently reopened after a lengthy renovation. The restaurant is great. I agree with other reviewers who have said that. The hotel has potential to become great. Pros include a very exceptionally friendly staff and loving attention to architectural detail. The hotel has a very interesting history and every room as been restored using top quality finishes.... Didn't stay there but had dinner and drinks in the bar. The bartender was so freindly and helpful with our questions about the area and the best routes to go. Walk around the hotel and look at all the things on the wall, from scores of pictures to mounted animal heads. The Buffalo Bill lore is everywhere!

We were fortunate enough to eat at the Sheridan Inn while on our trip to Wyoming. The food and service were great. Hubby and I had both a lunch and a dinner there-from the service to the accommodating staff we were super impressed. Their ribs are marvelous as was the salmon dinner. The week we were there they also reopened... More

Stayed here one night on our way to Montana. Beautifully restored building with themed rooms. The decor is excellent. We stayed in the Queen Victoria room which is spacious but cosy. The bathroom is large and beautifully done. The king size bed was delightfully comfortable. A wonderful place. The room rate is very reasonable and included breakfast. If you like... More

So excited to see what the new owners are doing with the place. Nice to have it open for tours again, and for a new restaurant to be there!

Run by Buffalo Bill Cody for a couple of years in the late 1800's and currently being restored in grand fashion, the entire building will transport you to another era! The restaurant has the original bar and served the best hand-packed bison burger I've ever eaten. Because it was Cody's birthday, we got a tour of the rooms before opening!... More

This is truly an historical landmark that warrants a visit when ever you are in Sheridan, Wyoming. A picture into the old west, Can`t wait to return and stay in one of the rooms once it is opened to stay
