It was a day trip from Rock Springs to Pinedale. Beautiful!!!!!! The snow capped mountains rose majestically as we travelled north. =) We went to Soda Lake and Fremont Lake and the snow capped mountains at the end of each lake just took our breaths away.... =)

US 191 from Rock Springs to Pinedale is well maintained... and very well patrolled. You will pass State Troopers on this route, almost guaranteed. This road is also one of the most deadly in the state with heavy trucks, gas field workers, travel trailers and various wild animals crossing frequently. Without a doubt, US 191 between Jackson and Pinedale, Wyoming is one of the most beautiful and picturesque drives in the country. Complete with mountains, plains, forests, rivers, wildlife and clear blue skies, this stretch of highway is clearly one of the best of the best.
But, it also has a dark side of which travelers should be made aware....
