This was a fun place for everyone. I'm still not sure what is original and what was remade (it housed barn animals for the university for some time after it was a prison but before becoming a museum). Great stories of some of the famous people who were there. Just a cool place I'd recommend as a stopover.

Very nice museum/history/info. Bigger and better than you could ever expect for $5 adults, 2.50 (13-17) and free under 13. Really great 1-2 hour stop. Easy on and off freeway.

We just popped in to see the info on Butch Cassidy and ended up staying for over 2 hours. The prison was great and the museum was so well done. The best part was the amazing photographs and stories of the prisoners. The details of their lives brought to life what it was like to live back in those hard... More

We had a great half day at the prison. I had read about it in a newspaper and decided to check it out. It is a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and gave us each our prisoner identification. We were told to come back to the desk... More

We did not know what to expect. It was five dollars to get in, so we thought, what the heck. Two hours later, we were tired and did not even see everything. We really enjoyed the broom factory and the guide who gave us a tour.

We loves this tour. Always loves Butch Cassidy and this was very informative. The little town is neat and all the old farming equipment was amazing. We love the old west needless to say we thought it was all very interesting.

The museum has several buildings to look at, all for just a $5 entry fee. The prison held some pretty infamous characters and there are posters all around the prison that tell the individual story of some of the prisoners. There is aw whole wing dedicated to Butch Cassidy (alias Robert Parker). The prison was turned over to the University... More

Our 7 and 10 year old grandchildren were not too excited when we told them this was our next stop. When we checked in, they got their detective booklet (a great fun search that took them several hours) and we all got tickets with our prisoners name on it. The prison is well kept up and the search kept us... More

If you are into the old west it is great, not sure if there are many more prisons like this around. But once you read about Butch Cassidy the rest was not very interesting

I must admit that I probably wouldn't have gone if my husband hadn't been so adamant that we visit the old prison. I am so glad we did! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the prison and was a lot of fun. It was a glimpse back in time and not something you get... More
