Very interesting! The volunteers were great at telling their stories. We spent hours here reading about all the past residents! Amazing how they used them to make a product to off-set costs. Not a hot spot - but definitely worth a visit.

The whole tour does not hang together well. Not arranged in an authentic manner. The restoration on the outside looks new and rather cheesy. It was confusing as to how the prison building was actually used.

I wish it had been bigger. When you pay the give you a card of someone who was imprisoned their. Which was fun and at the end you find out what happened to your person. You walk through the prison they are unearthing parts of the building all the time. The building after it closed was allowed to fall into... More

A must do if you're in Laramie. Lots of history and very minimal cost. I loved the Butch Cassidy room I probably spent about 45 minutes in that room alone. The Broom barn was also quite interesting, although the 'prisoner' working there wasn't' all that talkative. If you have time take a walk behind the prison and go visit the... More

It was a very good experience overall. I wish there was more there, but they are slowly restoring everything. Most of the buildings were changed, destroyed, etc. They are slowly unearthing new discoveries and are building very accurate replicas. It is a fairly small attraction, however we spent just about 2.5 hours there. We could've stayed longer, however we were... More

The Territorial Prison was an add-on to our western road trip and we are so glad we stopped! The museum is very well planned out and the new Butch Cassidy exhibit that is beyond belief! Check it out and get lost in time...plan on walking to the outside buildings, too. See how the brooms were made by the inmates and... More

While staying in Craig, Colorado, on our way to Devil's Tower, we visited with two gentlemen riding motorcycles. They highly recommended taking the tour of the Wyoming Territorial prison in Rawlins, Wyoming. We were going that way, so decided to check it out. The tour is given by college age men and women. My brother and I had our own... More

Our tour guide for this fascinating and unique site was exceptionally well informed and shared her knowledge with wonderful stories. In fact, it's the stories that make this place so interesting. It's not all that large, it's wonderfully restored, and the stories make it all come to life. They've have large photographic portraits on the walls of the prison of... More

Our group of 13 adults really enjoyed this historic site. I found the brochure with details helpful. Mostly, we just wandered around for 90 minutes and soaked up the information about a different place and time. I especially liked the profiles about the criminals who had stayed at the prison. The few women prisoners also had interesting profiles.. The guides... More

This was a very interesting and engaging historical site to explore! Had kids ranging from 11 down to 1 and all found neat things to look at and learn about! The old town and homestead were fun to explore and all had period furniture, toys, items to look at. Older kids enjoyed learning about their inmates they were assigned from... More
