Saw it in 1999 and this August. Actors/Actresses are real personable and do a good job interacting with the crowd before hand. Whole skit is maybe around 10 minutes. You will see all ages in the crowd. Good chance to take a picture or two and support the local (arts) theatre.

Its pretty cool I guess, its unique and quaint. It is as cheesy as could be, and a little lame. But it is entertaining for children. Best experience with it is when my brother who is in the army was driving through town as the shootout began. And he freaked out at the sound of gun shots.

Haven't been here for 20 years. The shoot out has changed to be more theatrical. The actors say they are from NYC. As the guy from the Pace picante commercial says "NEW YORK CITY?" It is quite obvious that they don't have a Western bone in their bodies. It woild be great for kids but I wouldn't walk over there... More

Went along on our last night in town. Please with our place to watch, just outside the ice cream place on the corner. Very loud and well acted out. Would have been improved by a few stunts and some older more realistic actors...one did bear a striking resemblance to Harry potter, not quite cowboy material. But kids enjoyed it, it... More

Everyday at 6PM on the town square is a Western shootout re-enactment. It lasts ~15 min. It is free but they pass the hat afterward requesting donations. This is also some marketing for their local playhouse. The shoot-out is pretty cheesy and best geared to <12 years of age. If you are there when it starts, stick around and watch.... More

I wouldn't rearrange a trip schedule to fit this attraction in, but if you are in the area it is a fun thing to see. The evening we saw this, the sound system failed numerous times during the show so we didn't hear everything during the performance.

We were in town with the kids and our timing worked so we stopped by the shootout. It was what I expected - I would recommend for those that like touristy type activities. It did not fit our typical liking - a little theatrical / "cheesy" / but our kids liked it.

Cute fun. Hard to hear at times but still worth it. The costumes were pretty. The same people are in the show at the playhouse. Liked the female sheriff and how the talked about Wyoming as the equality state.

If you are in Jackson Hole for the day do not miss the shootout especially if you have kids. We love to see it every time we visit. It's a blast. The actors do a great job of portraying what it was like back in the day. Get there early to get a good viewing spot. The best thing is... More

The Shootout is a great little show on the street corner- it is perfect for kids. Although it has changed since I lived here as a kid, it is worth it to see it at least once while in town. People start lining up around 5:45 to get good spots.
