Best Firearm Collection I've ever seen

A very complete collection for all tastes (military, historic, prop guns, manufacturer exhibits, technical, etc.) Well laid out and interesting reading.

There are five Museums including the Cody Firearms. Plains Indians, Buffalo Bill Cody, Photography/natural history, and Whitney Western Art/Sculptures. If you come for the Firearms you will love Bill Cody. The firearms museum has every conceivable weapon ever made. Room after room holds vast collections from early American flintlocks to Gatling Guns. There are some unique pistols displayed used by... More

This was something for the guys especially in our group. They really identified with many items on display here. It was well organized and displayed well also.

Even if you are not a big fan of guns, you will enjoy this collection that is included with your ticket to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. They have the pistol that belonged to WWII hero Audie Murphy, pistols and holsters used by Hoss and Little Joe Cartwright on "Bonanza", old flintlock musket loaders, a gattling gun and... More

They have a very extensive well displayed collection of both antique and current firearms . You are paying for all the museums but the others are mostly art collections, unlike years ago when they had wonderful diaramas of early Indian and settler life. Kids under 12 will find it uninspiring.

As a shooter and collector of 19th c. firearms, I found this to be a wonderful attraction and a drawing card for me, at least. They do allow non-flash photography of which I took advantage.

I've owned guns most of my life, but never knew there were so many designs, types, and brands nor how long ago guns were used. I was kinda ho-hum when my wife wanted to stop here since I had seen many gun exhibits. I was wrong. There are hundreds (or thousands?) of guns going back to the 1500's on display,... More

The owner was very friendly, and informed. It is free but they do accept donations. I am not a firearms nut but the history here is impressive and interesting. if you see something you don't understand just ask.

What a wonderful display of firearms - couldn't believe the amount of arms on the downstairs level that were from the Smithsonian

We visited the museum not realizing this could take days! We went thru the gun museum, wildlife museum and Wild Bill museum. The gun museum was overwhelming even for my husband who is a gun enthusiast. I found the Wild Bill museum very interesting. They had a chuck wagon set up out front with a cowboy cooking beans and biscuits!... More
