The Cody Gunfighters perform for fun on Thursday evenings throughout the summer at 6pm in 12th Street off Sheridan Avenue directly outside the Irma Hotel. The actors are all volunteers and perform a 30 minute show with stage props and loud hand guns shooting blanks. There is a loose script with much improvisation required when lines are forgotten by the... More

Apparently the actors in this attraction are all volunteers. They close off the street and wheel out all their props eg hotel, stagecoach etc. There is seating out on the street but if you want a good seat you are best to book. The show goes for about 15 mins and its a good bit of fun.

Rolling hills across the Elk Horn basin to Cody, Montana. Definitely cowboy country. Log cabins accommodation was a novelty,as was the street shootout with Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and Wild Bill Hickock etc. However, for a group that has been performing for some time, many of the actors were certainly not familiar with their lines and the performance came across... Boy, what a waste of time. The only redeeming value is: 1)The money collected goes to charity and 2)If you like to hear gunfire up close. There is no apparent script being followed. It kinda reminds me of a bunch of teenagers in the schoolyard fooling around, but with firearms! Maybe with some decent choreography it would be better.

The Cody Gunfighters show is entertaining. If you plan to eat at the Irma, and I suggest that you do, see the gun fight at 6:00 PM before dinner. Walk up and reserve a seat for $2 (half of which goes to charity) or stand and see the show for free. It is not professionally done but is a fun... More

If you have ever seen a reenactment of a gunfight, they are all about the same. They are trying to be funny and make a lot of noise. Good for a few minutes of laughs.

Don't expect professional acting and a top notch script, but if you just relax and go with it, it's a lot of fun! I purchased the poster (money goes to charity) which I had all of the characters sign. I had fun with that, too. And yes, I posed for pictures with them as well lol. Sometimes you just have... More

Acting is terrible. Skit is terrible. Sound system is terrible. Only a very small child would find this entertaining because of the big bang of gunshots. Paid the $2.00 per seat "donation" but didn't hear which charity it went to. I did hear the uncharismatic Buffalo Bill Cody thanking their sponsor, the Irma Hotel. I do believe the Irma pays... Bad actors, bad skit. Disrespectful to the history of Cody. I know it's free, I know it's supposed to be fun, but they can do much better. The city deserves better.

If you happen to be at the Alma Hotel/Restaurant on a nice day in Cody in the afternoon, stay around and find a good seat on the back porch of the hotel. The gunslinger show is pretty cute. No fee required unless you want to "buy" your seat for a $2.00 donation to charity. The kids will like it!!!!
