Worth the Visit

If you leave in the East this part of the nation is clear destination visit. It's a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth taking your time and do some walking.

Only drove through the park to Yellowstone. Saw some wildlife. Lake is clear and blue. Do not miss the buffalo bill dam...very educational.

Good place to visit and walk around. It's not much but it is worth the visit if you have time. I would do it again.

We camped here for 5 days in our TT . Large sites , fire ring, grill , water and electric. Vault toilets except at shower house , showers are quarters. The spots with electric / water are reserve only ie extra $10 fee to reserve. The park host sold fire wood for donations. We saw a lot of pronghorn from... More

We camped here for two nights. We chose an RV site so we could have electricity and water. There was grass to put the tent on and a cement picnic table. Bathrooms were a short walk away and fairly clean and quite modern with a pay shower. Nice to fall asleep to the sounds of the river.

We camped in this park for 5 days. The site was large with a fire pit. Wood can be obtained from the host by donation but I did notice a lot of folk gathering it on the waters edge. There was a little road noise but did not bother us too much. The boating and fishing looked excellent.

During our travel to Cody we stopped & relaxed by the lake, it was a fantastic spot to stay for a while interesting bird life around.

We enjoyed hiking thru the Buffalo Bill State Park. It was a nice warm to cool day in July and just the right time for a hike.

The camp site was very reasonably prices. A beautiful park with a playground for the kids. They did offer bathrooms with showers that were clean and well maintained, but you need to be sure to have quarters to pay for the showers. The staff does live on the property and were very accommodating if there was an issue.

It was a very nice campground. Level; Shaded; Clean Restroom/Showers. I wish we were there longer, but we were only there over-night.
