This is, per square inch, the coolest attraction in Cody. This is a history buffs dream, and pure ecstasy for a metal detectorist. There are relics dating from the 1500s through at least WWII. Make a donation while you are there - not doing so would be cheesy, as there is no fee. It's in an upstairs room that is... More

This is one stop you can make last an hour or a couple minutes depending on your mood, interest, or time restraints. If you are into firearms or history this is a museum you will enjoy. They have artifacts dating from the American Revolution up to World War II. There is no admission charge, but they do take donations. It... More

If you're a history buff or enjoy guns this is definitely worth stopping for. Hosts at facility the day we stopped in were very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Could have spent more time here. Wish there would have been more local items to see.

Traveling to Yellowstone, stopped a few nights at Cody, WY. A friend had insisted we look over the Buffalo Bill Museum--OVERWHELMING--soooo much stuff! Driving thru one of the Visitor's Centers for Yellowstone, one of the folks recommended the "Dug Up Gun Museum" and said the magic word, FREE!!! Went thru the museum that evening, what a GREAT experience! Much better... More

What a great little museum. The stories related to the dug up guns and the gentleman who started the museum's stories were both priceless. A quirky look at dug up guns. The entire family enjoyed the visit.

This is way better than the buffalo bill gun collection because the guns all have great stories and there is still some mystery behind them. The owner is really nice and knows what he has and willing to talk to you.

I enjoyed taking a short (30 minute) walk around this museum. They have a surprisingly big collection. Just like the name says, the guns have been dug up so they're rusty, worn, and may have pieces missing. But that just adds to their charm. Many of the revolvers you see have the bullets still in them, so the owner was... More

What an awesome collection of really cool stuff! Guns are the main attraction, but there are many other related items with such fascinating history from all over the USA. It's self guided and donations are requested (well worth it!!). Be sure to ask about their chihuahua. :) I'll be back! :)
