They had a wide variety of guns there. In many cases they told where the guns were found. Some were found with bullets in the chamber. Interesting to think about the stories that might be behind them.

Visited Sept 5, 2014. Just happened to wonder down a side street and stumbled onto this wonderful Museum. Have to say this is one of the most interesting, well laid out Gun Museums depicting the hystory of the Wild West, Civil War and right up to WWll. The owners, Hans and Eva are both very friendly and knowledgable, answering all... More

The Cody Dug Up Gun Museum is a highly impressive collection not only of old firearms, but of history itself. Every gun had a story and a journey behind it. It was amazing to see a Colt Peacemaker revolver that had been found half cocked with bullets still in the chamber. One could only guess what had happened to its... More

This museum is unique as it shows specimens of historical firearms that were dug up and were not restored to their original condition. Many of the guns are very rare. The guy operating the museum is very friendly and his knowledge of firearms is impressive.

Upstairs, diagonal from the Irma Hotel, this modestly-sized museum has a bit of everything about the old west, and a bit more. The owners were very pleasant, glad to answer any questions, and sincerely interested as it is the owner’s collection. The cases containing the collection are cleverly decorated based on the place/era the items represent and the labeling is... More

We had an enjoyable time going thru cases of relic guns and artifacts. The owner told us several stories on where he found these items. It is an amazing collection of historical USA . A must see! Cheryl and Jon Z.

If you like history and the guns related to that history, don't miss this. He has about 1,000 guns that have been found all over the U.S. With each gun there is a short history of the gun and where it was found. They are all displayed in very nice cases. He also has antique guns for sale on consignment.... More

Found this small museum in downtown Cody. Over 900 firearms - many "dug up" and found in Wyoming. Small enough so it won't take too much time and the owner is very knowledgeable.

This museum has so many cool items! Since I am a big history buff...I love to see the "real stuff". There were so many guns and other items to see. Some of the guns were "frozen in time"...still loaded! The owner's wife was there, and was very helpful and informative. LOVED IT!
