The greeter gave us a paper so we could do our own self guided tour. It worked out great. The volunteers were very nice.

Ever go on an historic house tour and get bored with too much information? That won't happen here. You ring the doorbell to be admitted, here about a 3 minute overview in the front parlor, and then wander around the house on your own with pamphlet. I liked that! I spent about 40 minutes in the house, which is chock... More

The original home of the state's governor's, you can visit each room and photos are permitted. Much original furniture remains, and the docent is friendly and knowledgeable. Self-guided tours.

The mansion exhibits are unique in that each room represents a different period of time in history, rather than having the entire building restored to one specific time in history. To enter the mansion and take the self-guided tour, you must knock on the door and a staff member will come and unlock it.

Awesome look at Wyoming's past and the governors and their families who lived there. Staff is very helpful. Period displays are very educational. One of Cheyenne's highlights.

Wonderful museum with lots of history, nestled away near the hospital - has changing exhibits and events. The current Governor's residence is also available to visit - check the hours and see the beautiful homes that our elected officials have! Doesn't take a lot of time to go through but what wonderful history they both offer. Enjoy!

A little off the beaten tourist track but that means you get to see a residential side of Cheyenne not visible from the downtown central area of the city. An hour is plenty of time to see the house and watch a ten-minute video about it--and I take lots of time to read all the descriptions available and take photos... More

We took the "historic downtown Cheyenne walking tour" and this was one of the few historic buildings that had not been torn down and replaced by an ugly bank building. Well-preserved inside and out and well worth an hour of your time.
