People tend to forget that the dells wasn't always a tourist destination. This museum is a good reminder of the history of this beautiful area.

What a great place to learn about the history of the Wisconsin Dells. H. H. Bennett truly loved this area and it shows through the photographs he took. Also, learning about his photography processes and his passion for photography comes through in this interactive studio.

We went in June for the celebration of the studio's 150th Anniversary. Admission was free, but donations were accepted. We liked the museum and studio, and learned a lot!

I have loved taking pictures my whole life and this museum, though on the smaller side was quite educational, informative and kind of fun. It tells of H.H. Bennett and his love of photography and how he developed the shutter and the steps he had to go through to make people believe him. If you like history and photography, it's... More

Liked learning about history of photography as well as the Dells area. This probably is not of interest to preschool children.

I took my middle school kids to H.H. Bennett Studio for a tour and found it to be fascinating! The director Alan was very interesting and really knew a lot. A definite stop for the history buff.

This is a well-laid out small museum. We are locals, and we appreciate being able to take visitors to find out more about the history of the Dells and the role of H.H. Bennett in bringing it to the attention of the world. Definitely worth the cost and something families with school-age children should definitely see.

I like seeing what the Dells once were - and this is the man that brought them into the public eye. The museum is tucked away between all the t-shirt and misc souvineer shops downtown, but is well worth the few buck to go through. Even just stopping in the shop gives you an idea of what the Dells were.
