Excellent activity away from the traffic and congestion of the Dells on a weekend. 6 of us - Dad, Mom, 13, 10, 9 and almost 3 year old. Our 3 year old absolutely loved everything about it and ate up the entire experience. The older kids enjoyed themselves but had fun watching their little brother get so excited. The train... More

This little train ride was a lot of fun. The staff were really great too. The only thing I didn't care for was how loud the train was.

Our son is OBSESSED with trains. All trains. Everyday. The Riverside and Great Northern Railway is one of his favorite stops in the Dells. The workers/volunteers take great pride in their railway and spend time answering endless questions from visitors. They told us the story of the Milwaukee Zoo Train being "born" in their sheds and pointed out other things... More

There is nothing extreme about this attraction, but it is a nice way to relax and see some of the northwoods. Riding this small scale train was relaxing. BOGO coupons can be found in several places. Kids and train buffs will enjoy this quiet attraction.

This little train was a great experience for our toddlers. The workers/ volunteers shared some interesting information. We had a coupon from the Wisconsin Dells coupon book which made it a very cheap activity. We did donate money to the donation box because it is run by volunteers, and we would like to see it keep going in the future.

We had a great time! Unique place. I am surprised it is not more popular. Small but real steam train, engineer, conductor, so authentic... People were really nice, ready to answer all your questions or just tell you an interesting story about the old railway. Interesting place for small and grown up kids!

We had a great time on Mother's Day here! Moms got in free :-) the view from the train was beautiful and the tidbit about the history was interesting too tho hard to hear. Will come back again!

Here we are 2 grown adults (over 40). Going to see a little train. What a great time. Watching the engineer take care of his train before the ride. Old fashion oil can and checking everything in his typical engineer hat. What a photo opportunity. Took some great black and white shots and our friends wanted copies because it looked... More

Easy to get to from the Dells. Good activity for the morning as they usually open around 9:30 a.m. Volunteers always are doing something--one was working on replacing ties when we were there. We got to chat with him for a while about the work that goes on to enable this place to stay open. The ride is not that... More

This was a great activity to do with my 18 month old! He loves trains and was in awe of this tiny train ride! We went in October and the ride stopped on the way back for the kids to pick out a pumpkin. Super cute!
