Here we are 2 grown adults (over 40). Going to see a little train. What a great time. Watching the engineer take care of his train before the ride. Old fashion oil can and checking everything in his typical engineer hat. What a photo opportunity. Took some great black and white shots and our friends wanted copies because it looked... More

Easy to get to from the Dells. Good activity for the morning as they usually open around 9:30 a.m. Volunteers always are doing something--one was working on replacing ties when we were there. We got to chat with him for a while about the work that goes on to enable this place to stay open. The ride is not that... More

This was a great activity to do with my 18 month old! He loves trains and was in awe of this tiny train ride! We went in October and the ride stopped on the way back for the kids to pick out a pumpkin. Super cute!

My son had a blast on this little train! It's the perfect size for little ones and extremely well-run. Quick little trip through the woods and a nice getaway from the tackiness of the Dells. They have lots of picnic tables - I wish I would have thought to pack/bring lunch so we could have spent more time there to... More

It was our second time visiting, and it was more fun that the first. Our son is really into trains, and loved the ride. It is a short ride, but scenic and relaxing. Will keep coming back every year!

My wife and I took our 9 year old train fanatic son to ride the train. Great property dedicated to all things train. Small gauge working crossings, water tower and coal conveyor that fills the tender! The ride down and back on the tracks lasted about 40 minutes and included a stop for the engine to be turned around on... More

We have a 2 year old and he LOVED the train ride... we also had a need for a wheel chair on the train and the crew was VERY accommodating! We also enjoyed the "old time" feel of the surrounding and learning about the history of the railway. We would definitely recommend this attraction when visiting the Dells!

If you like trains, don't miss this one. These 1/4 size trains will charm children and adults alike. The 2 mile ride through the woods is a refreshing change from the typical contrived tourist attraction. Cheerful volunteers who love their jobs will tell you all about their charming little railroad as you wait to board, and again at the end... More

We took this tour and both our kids and ourselves enjoyed this very much. Very friendly staff. Historical and educational, not just your typical amusement park adventure. Something out of the ordinary.

Our 3 year old grandson is a huge fan of trains and this was a big surprise for him on our trip to the Dells. When we pulled into the parking lot he was in heaven. Not only were there trains from the Riverside & Great Northern line but as if on que a "big train" rolled past on the... More
