This ride is a must do for families or train enthusiasts...my kids had a great time and it has a bit of historical value also...prices are fair and it was a great experience...we will do this every year!

We took our 3 and 8 yr. old and they enjoyed it. So glad we took the time to check this place out. The conductors were so friendly and informative they made the ride enjoyable, I can't say the same the cashier. She needs to be told that a friendly little smile would go a long way.

What a fun, relaxing ride. I haven't rode this since I was a kid, and it is just as much fun. This only takes about a half hour of your time, so it is a nice fill-in attraction. Run by a volunteer group, so they really appreciate you coming. Can even see an old Pullman car along the way. Highly... More

This was absolutely wonderful! It is sensibly priced. The workers, who are all volunteers, are patient with energetic little kids. They also joke around with each other. They create such an enjoyable atmosphere. The train ride is beautiful. And they stop at the halfway point and turn the engine around on a turntable! This really is a nice break from... More

My husband and I took our 3 year old son and 6 year old daughter to the Riverside and Great Northern Railway on August 14th. Both of our kids thoroughly enjoyed the train ride! My son also loved the gift shop as he picked out a toy train there after the ride. This attraction is not priced nearly as high... More

Excellent activity away from the traffic and congestion of the Dells on a weekend. 6 of us - Dad, Mom, 13, 10, 9 and almost 3 year old. Our 3 year old absolutely loved everything about it and ate up the entire experience. The older kids enjoyed themselves but had fun watching their little brother get so excited. The train... More

This little train ride was a lot of fun. The staff were really great too. The only thing I didn't care for was how loud the train was.

Our son is OBSESSED with trains. All trains. Everyday. The Riverside and Great Northern Railway is one of his favorite stops in the Dells. The workers/volunteers take great pride in their railway and spend time answering endless questions from visitors. They told us the story of the Milwaukee Zoo Train being "born" in their sheds and pointed out other things... More

There is nothing extreme about this attraction, but it is a nice way to relax and see some of the northwoods. Riding this small scale train was relaxing. BOGO coupons can be found in several places. Kids and train buffs will enjoy this quiet attraction.

This little train was a great experience for our toddlers. The workers/ volunteers shared some interesting information. We had a coupon from the Wisconsin Dells coupon book which made it a very cheap activity. We did donate money to the donation box because it is run by volunteers, and we would like to see it keep going in the future.
