This is an easy choice as this is a well run mid-west ski experience. Be prepared to pay a premium price over other nearby options, although my family feels it is well worth it. The value is new high speed lifts, consistent grooming, night skiing, great bar with live music, decent food and friendly staff. Although we do not rent,... More

Supposedly Wausau has the highest credit score average in the country, which I doubt from being there many times now but this place is great. It really is a great place to ski, plenty of places to have all to yourself, great runs, and just perfect for the Midwest. You can easily do all the skiing you want during the... More

We snowboard pretty often, especially for being residents of Chicago. This is our first time to GP, and we really had a wonderful time. It's beautiful, friendly staff, easy to get to, reasonable prices, this list goes on and on. The hills are fun, challenging, and surprisingly long. The snow quality is the best I have ever seen in the... More

I go to Granite Peak for 2 days with the boys every year. It's our annual ski trip with a small crew from high school. Yup, now we're in our mid 40s and we've all skied the west plenty of times, but keep going back to GP year after year because it's close, mega cheap...... and the runs are just... More

Now as fall colors are starting to change don't miss the beauty for on top of the hill. This is a pretty sight any time of year.

Granite Peak is a good size ski resort. The comet speed lift is stellar. I like how they have added a larger beginners terrain park over by the kiddie hill as well. It's fun to dink around in, but also gives the inexperienced park rats a place they can play out of the way of others. The one thing lacking... More

2 high speed lifts and adding a 3rd this summer! You cant beat this hill for the location. If you do not have a season pass it is a little expensive and the people running the lift could be a little more friendly. Out in CO lifties ask you how your doing, have a great run or at least say... More

The beginner moguls and beginner glades have taught my kids how to ski that type of terrain and are now enjoying more challenging mogul fields and glades. And I skied their chutes twice this trip which was a great intro to chutes for me and I felt very proud of myself!
