We have camped here, once or twice/year, for 20 years because we have family in the area. The park is in a lovely area and has some neat hikes, but visitors should know it is swampy and full of mosquitos. Restrooms are campsite clean, nothing more. Like so many parks, it attracts a variety of campers. Even though we stay... More

This is one of our favorite state parks. It is very beautiful and has several trails a person can hike/walk. Camp sites are generous and pretty clean. Restrooms are clean. Only two showers so a little walk may be required depending on campsite. The nearby city of Trempealeau is quaint has a few good restaurants. A wildlife refuge is nearby... More

Kayaking the streams and swamps next the mighty Miss was a blast. It wasn't easy due to the terrain but it was totally worth it. In addition to kayaking, hiking is fun at Perrot. The rolling bluffs are gorgeous!

Pretty, but the easiest path for my toddler was often very narrow and right near steep bank by the water. No trails were handicap or stroller friendly. Heard the bluff views were nice, will have to try those on the next trip (without the little one!)

We had a great time camping here. Campsites were big enough and provided a good amount of privacy from each other. Ours in particular (#66) was very secluded and away from others without feeling too isolated. We had both pit toilets and a regular bathroom with toilets and 2 shower stalls within a short distance, and both were campsite-clean. (You... More

We visited on the hottest day of the summer, so far anyway! Due to the intense sun and heat, we only had a short canoe ride, but it looked like a nice place to return to. We were on the Trempeleau River, but it looked like you could also access the Mississippi River. We were able to find nice shady... More

Another great river oriented state park with spectacular views of the water and surrounding steep bluffs, both WI & MN sides. you are looking directly across about a mile plus at even steeper MN bluffs. Boat marina and plenty of B&Bs,eats nearby in town.RR buffs may like this as well.

I must return to go kayaking! This park is beautiful, with trails for summer hiking and winter cross country skiing. A small center has exhibits about the Mississippi River, invasive species and more. The views are gorgeous and we saw orioles and eagles on our brief visit.

A great hike with a nice view, the staff is helpful! Follow the signs from main street in Trempeleau - otherwise you will drive around the whole park to find the Park Building!

This park is smaller than some other state parks but it is beautiful. Bonus is that you can pick up the Great River State Trail here. Nice looking camping area, too.
