We were so surprised at this museum---VERY interesting! And the diorama is extremely well done! I suggest visiting this museum first--before you go anywhere else--because it will tell you a lot of secrets and history that will make your visit to other areas more interesting.

there are lots of things to see, and it's free, worth to go, also there are some old fire engine, and there are clothes for kids to wear on as a fire fighter, and you can climb and sit on one of the fire engine, quite good for kids.

This was a great find. There is so much to view in this museum and a very friendly hostess. The subject matter covers just about everything and the artifacts are wonderful.

This was a wonderful surprise. They are a small museum, and have all of their exhibits in neat little displays. Those displays are just packed with small items with detail cards on pretty much everything. The fire engines were cool, as well as a horse drawn hearse. No charge for the museum.

Very nice museum in a beautiful old building. The displays where set up very well and contained hundreds of antiques and lots of information on the history of Door County. We really enjoyed the fire station area and the wildlife area.

This museum is on the edge of downtown. I have driven by dozens of times and finally decided to stroll on over after visiting the farmer's market across the road (another great event, but that's a separate review). It looks deceptively small from the outside but inside there's lots to see. A great taxidermy display greets you. As others have... More

This place is bigger than it looks. There are a lot of antiques that show the history of sturgeon bay and the people that lived there. And in the garage you can see a couple old fire trucks. It's FREE

Very well done and if we had time we could have spent hours. We hope to go back someday and visit it again. Kids might not appreciate so best if you leave them at home.

Not a bad way to spend maybe 2 hours on a rainy day. They have old stuff relating to the area, some fire trucks and an old jail cell. The taxidermy display is very nice and they tell me it is growing. Nothing real stupendous, but they don't charge admission, just a donation box.

This is a wonderful museum with something of interest for everyone. There is free 2 hour street parking outside, but this may not be enough time for you, particularly if you take in some of the four 15 minute history videos. The diorama is first class, and coupled with the video gave me a new appreciation of taxidermy. The museum... More
