I am not a huge fan of play's or of being outside. That being said. I would totally make another trip back here, my mom convinced me it would be worth it and she was right. The set up/location is beautiful, the acting is brilliant and the price is not outrageous if you go to the early afternoon show. We... More

This group of actors are so talented. This is a beautiful setting and whatever the weather this group put on the most entertaining performances you could ever want to see. I have been to several performances, 2 in rainy weather but no matter what, the actors put on a splendid performance. This is high level talent in a beautiful setting.... More

We went to Spring Green to visit family. What we found was a magnificent community with a gorgeous outdoor theater and intimate indoor theater. Costumes, staging, acting, all on the highest professional level. Enjoyed Romeo and Juliet in the outdoor theater. Birds chirped, the breeze blew. As the sun set behind us the moths came out followed closely by the... More

A must see. The only problem we found was trying to find what plays were available, At the House of the Rock we were able to ask what theaters were available. That took us a while to discover. It is a great theater but you must be ready view the theater OUT SIDE.

I was fortunate enough to be in college at the University of Wisconsin just 40 miles from American Players Theater when it opened in 1980. The theater has a very special place in my heart and I have seen multiple productions in most of the last 35 years. The remarkable thing is that I have never been disappointed. Production quality... What a treat to experience world-class Shakespeare (and other plays) in a natural setting. American Players Theater is a do-not-miss experience! Especially nice to come early and enjoy a picnic on the grounds before walking up the hill to see the play. I have been once already this year and plan on coming twice more to see other plays.

It was so nice to attend a play in the outdoor setting. The actors were excellent, and we were happy for the shuttle from the base of the hill to the stage area. Several cans of bug spray helped to address any concerns about being outdoor. The play itself was a lot of fun.

One of the best performance of the year we have seen. "The Importance of Being Earnest", a laugh a minute from this old Oscar Wilde play. The Uphill venue is marvelous and of course you have to watch the weather, but we had a nice evening. The acting has always been great at the American Players Theater. We have sat... More

American Players Theatre is an amazing place to see a performance. I saw The Importance of Being Earnest this time out, but over the years I have seen many shows out at APT, and each one has been spectacular. The setting is amazing, the cast superb, and the whole venue and experience not to be missed. The outdoor setting adds... More

This is a simply magical place to see a play. We cannot imagine a more beautiful setting. Bring a picnic, bring a bottle of wine, bring your friends, all are welcome in the lovely picnic grove where you can eat and drink before the performance. Last night we saw Much Ado About Nothing. Wonderful, funny and truly perfect. This is... More
