I have been here more times than I can count over the years - with friends, with family, with my husband. I even took a group of students a couple of times. I have never - ever - been disappointed. Cold, maybe; hot, maybe; bitten by mosquitoes, maybe. But never disappointed. You just protect yourself from those things; and even... More

I saw 2 plays: Pride and Prejudice and Streetcar Named Desire. Excellent actors and overall well-conceived productions. It is inspiring to see so many audience members supporting theater in this beautiful rural setting. We pre-ordered a picnic dinner for 4 before the evening performance and enjoyed eating it in the picnic area. I recommend doing this. The food was delicious.... More

My wife and I recently attended a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire at APT. The performance was wonderful and the setting was absolutely magical! The evening was hot but we quickly forgot the high temps once the show began. This was our first time and we will certainly be back.

My favorite annual summertime trip is to American Players theater, and after seeing yesterday's astounding performance of A Streetcar Named Desire I felt complelled to write this review. I have been attending APT for nearly 25 years and have never been disappointed by my experience or a performance. Yesterday's performance of A Streeetcard Named Desire was performed with such incedible... More

Started the day with a walking tour of APT. Highly recommend the walking tour. You get to see everything from wigs, costumes, hats, props, set construction and both theatres. The afternoon play was fantastic as always. Highly recommend hydration and sunblock for any afternoon play. The evening play of Pride and Prejudice was excellent. The setting for theatre is perfect... More

What a combination, Jane Austen and the cozy intimacy of superb acting and staging that is APT's hallmark. Even though the evening was rainy, it interrupted the first act, it drew the cast and audience together and made for a memorable evening with everyone in their rain gear hoping that a downpour does not end the evening, which it did... We went to see "Streetcar named Desire." Enjoyable, but a little long. APT was as good as I remembered. A very enjoyable experience that anyone in a 200 mile proximity should attend. Surprisingly, the staff does a very able job of shuffling a few hundred women through the restroom during intermission. I forgot how much I hated the incline, but... More

If you enjoy live theater, you must visit APT. We have seen five performances here over the past seven or eight years (the most recent last week), all of them in the original "Up the Hill" theater. The set is quite basic with few changes during a performance, but this doesn't in any way limit the audience's ability to understand... More

I smiled and laughed through the whole production. Great acting, costumes and sets. This play involved children and a dog, too.
