Back again for our fifth year in a row. We live about an hour away, and every year we bring my parents who live in Minneapolis to a play as a Christmas gift. My dad, a retried English teacher lines every minute... As do the rest of us. We prefer the comedies.. Great actors. Pack a picnic and enjoy the... More

Saw Streetcar Named Desire on 6/26 in this lovely outdoor venue. Well performed with top artists having "big-city" experience. Bit of a walk from the car [but a shuttle is available], and ticket-pricing was at a Chicago level [$75 per ticket], but performances were superb and looking to patronize again.

We saw A Streetcar Named Desire. Every seat is great. Sound was good. Enjoyed very much. Bug spray is provided before you enter. A local beer or glass of wine is $7. Try the peppermint schnapps hot chocolate is yummy. Seats are padded and comfy.

Every summer we trek down to Spring Green to see theater at APT. We have never been disappointed. Surrounded by rolling hills and prairie flowers, the outdoor theater is a delightful place to view Shakespeare. The first night we saw A Street car Named Desire, which was fantastic. Second night we enjoyed The Merry Wives of Windsor. The quality of acting... More

All the shows I've seen are very enjoyable & easy to understand even if they are from other eras. Shakespeare is done to perfection where even a lay person can understand what is being presented. Some of my best times have been in this theatre!

I took my parents to see Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor. The play was very well done although a la Victorian. They have picnic tables for a bite before the play and you can either bring your own food or order a basket or meal with your tickets online. They have some sandwiches, snacks and drinks for sale too. They... More

If you are a Chicagoan, and haven't been to APT yet, well, get on it! Spring Green is the perfect weekend getaway- with Frank L. Wright's first school, Taliesen, state parks, heck- house on the Rock nearby is even worth a gander! But APT is the jewel of the Midwest, as far as theatre is concerned. Try to get tickets... More

Whether in the large open theatre or the small "black Box" indoor theatre, American Players is always a pleasant experience. A weekend in Spring Green offers many delightful surprises. There is Taliesen, Frank Loydd Wright's first school of architecture, the House on the Rock with its eccentric delights, Art on 23, a beautiful art gallery specializing in the hand blown... More

As a Brit, it took a little time to get used to Shakespeare with American accents, but that did not detract in any way from the excellent production of "Much Ado about Nothing". Had a great evening thanks to my friend in the US's recommendation.

Have attended since the early 90's when I took my preteen daughter to "Romeo and Juliet" -- the addition of the indoor Touchstone Theatre is great for more intimate shows.
