Well worth a visit and see a performance if you can. The grounds are lovely and just pray for good weather. It's just down the road from the House on the Rock Inn.

Good theater and the best scenic view. Wonderful acting... some of the best actors in the US. Unusual venu. Good food can be brought or bought. Shopping in the boutique is for those liking original works.

It was our first time attending a theater performance and let's just say we already planned on going back before it ended. We had heard about it and looked up some information, but nothing comes close to experiencing it. The Up The Hill theater is the perfect setting for a night outside under the stars. Plan ahead and you won't... More

What is there to say? This is one of the most special places in the world! With a background in theatre production, I am aware of what goes into 'puttin' on a play.' To do it OUT in Nature is altogether outstanding. And the quality of all aspects of what APT does leaves one without words to express it--APT is... More

I've been attending the plays at American Players for over 30 years and it just seems like each year gets better and better. They've expanded their choices to include more than Shakespeare so don't think you won't find something to enjoy. In addition to an excellent acting company, I LOVE to see the costumes and sets. This is an absolute... More

APT is a lovely experience--both indoors and out. Outdoor evening performances have the added benefit of a moon rise over the stage! The indoor theater in the round is particularly inviting. All productions we've seen--modern and classic, comedy and tragedy--all have been very good. As a bonus, the gift shops are very nice too!

The outstanding quality of the productions is most important to this venue. The actors, scenery design for outdoor theater, costumes, and lighting design are professional. There is now an indoor theatre available for productions. I have never been disappointed in the several productions I have attended at this venue. The plays are chosen for their depictations of fine drama. Shakespeare... More

Given paper napkins to wipe the rain from our seats all the patrons bundled up under tarps, blankets and big, view-blocking umbrellas to await the start of 'All My Sons' final showing. A colourful and amusing sight made even more enjoyable by the slightly over priced roast nuts we'd bought at the concession. Then: 'we are told this rain cell... More

We have been coming to APT for years. The 2 venues of the outdoor theater and the Touchstone are wonderful values. We will continue to be patrons for many, many more years. "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern" sparkled with energy and laughter. Antony and Cleopatra was strongly anchored by James Davita and cast. 11 out of 10 in our book.

We just returned from the matinee performance of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. From the minute we walked in until we finally gave up and left it was raining quite hard. The acting was probably pretty good but having to get soaking wet to watch it was not. There was no offer of a rain check made to the audience... More
