Make sure you have at least 4 hours if you want to go through the whole thing! It's a fun house with a lot of different things to see. Many things were fabricated by the builder of the house , so not much is actually valuable or historic but it it still fun to look at. My daughter loved all... More

This place makes me laugh! I LOVE all of the gigantic music machines. But House on the Rock has SO much more -- one does go into sensory overload! But -- you MUST visit. Words do not do it justice. A Wisconsin original.

You know that scene at the end of the movie “Citizen Kane” where the camera pans across a room filled with an eclectic collection of items, from sculpture to art to an assortment of unusual things? That is what the House on the Rock reminded me of…a strange and sometimes bizarre collection of items, the shear scale of which is... More

They said 3 hours to go through all 3 sections. They were right. There is so much to see. A lot of it smells really old and some mechanical instruments need some tuning and repair. Overall, it was great.

Locals said plan 5-6 hours. We thought they were kidding. There are three sections to this attraction, LOTS of walking. We spent took our time, did not see everything, spent 7 hours and only saw two sections. We went back the next day to see the third section. You get a 3 part ticket so it didn't cost us any more.... As were staying in the Dells, we went to the House on the Rock. Awesome place! The buildings / Museums are huge and I wish there were more light since some of the rooms are really dark. The place is really "strange" and it's worth a visit. You can choose , if I recall 3 types of visits"...if you visit... More

We visited House On The Rock 8/12/14 very nice place but poor lighting in many spots so you miss some things. Allow at least 4 hours to see everything. It would have been nice if more things were labeled so you knew what they were. People younger than 55 probably wouldn't know what lots of things are.

You have to make sure you look at the exhibits from every angle or you will miss something. We took young kids and they were mesmerized all through the exhibits. We spent 5 1/2 hours and feel like we couldn't possibly take it all in. Be prepared to walk and walk. The front desk clerk was snippy and decidedly not... More

It is unmistakable that you are this most unusual museum! The changes to the entrance are a vast improvement and thankfully they have not altered too many of the exhibits we have come to know and love. Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours and don't worry, there are many places to sit and enjoy the exhibits along the... More

It just seems criminal that such a beautiful spot was disfigured with this awful monstrosity. It is truly a tourist "trap", as once inside you have miles of insanity to find your way through before you can escape the dank, moldy smell. It is so poorly lit you can barely see most of what is exhibited. When I questioned one... More
