I have been here numerous times! It is well kept and plenty of people to help if you need it. The air conditioning is poor in some areas. To go in all 3 sections you walk about 3 miles....I would say if you have limited time or energy the 3rd section is the best!

We thought this would be a campy, go to tourist trap. This was fantastic all around. My teenagers loved it. We arrived at 3 and it is open until 6. That's enough time for two of the three buildings. We went to the original house, which you have to do. We liked it so much we ran back and got... More

If you live in Wisconsin you simply have to visit HOR once. It is bucket list material. Well I have now been there and still don't know what to say. Hours and hours of following a winding path up, down and around, through the worlds largest collection of "stuff". He built a "unique" house high on a rock bluff because... More

This place is truly amazing. Plan for a whole day or most of a day. We spent 5 hours here and really could have been there longer, but the kids were too worn out to stay longer. This place has everything and anything you can imagine. It was so cool and interesting. I would say that young kids won't love... More

Have you ever walked into a shrine and felt an Omnipresence, this is what it feels like when you walk around in the House on the Rock. Alex Jordan found an unusual rock formation with a great view, bought the land around it from a farmer, and began building an unusual structure that has grown like an octopus, enveloping the slopes around this rock. Alex would be known today as a hoarder, with an insatiable hunger for stuff. You name it, this place is full of it.... More

This is an attraction that is not to be missed. Simple way to explain it is a collection of collections displayed in a fun and totally unique way. From the world's largest carousel, to the house itself, to the medieval armor and weapons, the miniature circuses, antique farm toys, steam engines, dolls and doll houses, jewelry store displays, model ships,... We were glad we went . There is a lot was walking and the tour is self guided. It is divided into 3 sections. You do not have to do the entire tour all at one time. Which I wish we had known. We did split out tour into 2 sections. The first part of the tour tells the viewer... More

If you have ever collected something, rocks, bugs, or matchbooks, this is the place for you. Located in southwest Wisconsin, just south of the Dells, this is the nirvana for all things collectible. Built by Alex Jordan some Fifty or so years ago it has grown into a first rate destination on it's own. You seemingly walk miles through one... More
