This is an attraction that is not to be missed. Simple way to explain it is a collection of collections displayed in a fun and totally unique way. From the world's largest carousel, to the house itself, to the medieval armor and weapons, the miniature circuses, antique farm toys, steam engines, dolls and doll houses, jewelry store displays, model ships,... We were glad we went . There is a lot was walking and the tour is self guided. It is divided into 3 sections. You do not have to do the entire tour all at one time. Which I wish we had known. We did split out tour into 2 sections. The first part of the tour tells the viewer... More

If you have ever collected something, rocks, bugs, or matchbooks, this is the place for you. Located in southwest Wisconsin, just south of the Dells, this is the nirvana for all things collectible. Built by Alex Jordan some Fifty or so years ago it has grown into a first rate destination on it's own. You seemingly walk miles through one... More

My wife visited House on the Rock in the early 80's. Very glad she thought we would like it. What an eclectic collection! This is not a MUSEUM but a glimpse into a VERY creative mans life and his passion for collecting, sorting, organizing and displaying. A true testimonial to desire and vision! All I could think to write in... More

This is the best museum I've ever been in. This house is not only amazing from an architecture stand point, but is one of the most amazing collections of antiques. There is old cars, bicycles, toys, furniture and dishes. It may be off the beaten path but it is absolutely amazing. If you get a chance its well worth the... More

Neat objects but sort of a "collection" of things- lots of things. Great for kids because there is so much to look at it would keep their attention. Some spots smell old and musty.

This place gives the feel of an attraction whose time has come and gone. Honestly it was the creepiest thing I have ever experienced. The whole place reeks of the maniacal whims of a severely repressed man. Almost the entire place is shrouded in darkness so that you can hardly see. The floors are filthy, and everything is dusty and... More

I was expecting just a tour of an exotic house and was pleasantly surprised to find all the other interesting exhibits and collections. Really an enjoyable experience unlike anything I had seen before.

There are no true words to describe this place. The exhibits future just about everything from airplanes, circus replicas, musical instruments, a huge whale and a creepy but at the same time beautiful carousel (said to be the largest in the world) But basically it's just a bunch of random collections thrown all over this place. I'd suggest people with... More

This is place is truly bizarre. The attraction is set up in 3 parts. We visited all 3 in the 3 hours we had budgeted however we needed at least 1 more hour to see it properly. Plan on 4 or 5 hours to do and see everything at a leisurely pace and be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The... More
