Great beaches, pristine dunes, camping and wildlife. See deer up close. Sandhill cranes. We bicycle to Kohler-Andre in the summer for a great non-denominational church service on Sundays.

Here is a wooded shoreline with high sand dunes. The dunes have a long boardwalk from which one can survey the long shore--and which help preserve the fragile dunes, which unfortunately not everyone has respected, resulting in the collapse of a couple of benches which used to overlook the water. Another boardwalk goes out into the marsh area adjoining the... More

We camped/explored here for 3 days/2 nights the last weekend of September. We had reserved a campsite ahead of time, since I knew this was a popular destination (had camped here for years as a child). While the campground was nearly full, there were a few sites that remained available the whole time we were there, so it looks like... More

Granted - we visited in September but the beach was long and empty. Took a few of the walking tours which was easy to follow - but wear good shoes and wouldn't recommend for someone who isn't sure-footed.

My husband and I really enjoyed the beach and dune "cordwalk." We have been to the park several times and each time we are pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Our last trip was in January winter camping right near the beach. We got our choice of sites and the park was quiet except a couple RV's but it was... More

Went to hang at the beach and dunes Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Just a beautiful spot. The south beach has nice flush toilet restrooms and shower houses. North beach is where the dogs can go. Both are clean, very nice. Camping areas looked great. Nature Center is one of the best I have ever seen at a... More

We drove up here for the day and loved it. The beach is great. We didn't camp, but the camping looked nice too. I was a little surprised of the size of the park; for some reason, I was expecting a large park and it wasn't too big. I still want to get back there.

We discovered this park last summer and are so excited to be going back next week! The beach is incredible...does not even feel like Lake Michigan. Its like being in the Carolina's! Soft white sand, and best of all, it is dog friendly!!! The weekend we went, the dog beach was practically empty and we were able to tire out... More

My husband and I so enjoyed hiking up and down the dunes along Lake Michigan thanks to the wonderful boardwalk running parallel to the lake. What a gorgeous state park! It was a cool and breezy weekday, so the beach and hills were ours alone. We felt like explorers discovering uncharted wild land. Then we came upon a few families... More
