Clearly no one at this park has a realistic definition of "dog beach". We travel all over the country with our friendly and well-behaved dogs and enjoy true dog beaches. Do you know that on the designated dog beach at Kohler-Andrae State Park your dog must be on a leash at all times, even when they are swimming? This is... More

The draw for this park has always been the wonderful, sandy beach area. We packed everything up to enjoy a fun day and when we got there...no beach. Not sure what happened, but very disappointed. Packed right up and headed inland to another state park. Very sad.

Kohler-Andrae is actually a double state park with 2 distinctly different vibes. The Kohler part is named after the faucet and plumbing family. The beach is positively beautiful and one of a kind in natural perfection. There is a real cool nature center with lots of great information about the park. The camp sites looked real clean and well maintained.... More

First, I will say that I was only there for a few hours. There certainly are some lovely lake views, the paviallon we were in was very nice, clean, roomy. Bathrooms were clean. I can't say I would go back when I compare it to other parks. We happened to be there for an event so I didn't have a... More

The park is absolutely wonderful, however, not sure who decides what size camper will fit in a spot. We have a 29ft. trailer, registered it as such on Reserve America. We would have damaged the truck if we could have gotten it in there. Thankfully, friends with a smaller trailer were going to be on another site, so we just... More

Perfect place to camp with large, wooded sites. Very clean and well maintained. Great walking, hiking, bike riding. Very dog friendly place. The water was very high due to the lake dressing and not evaporating as much as usual. This caused less beach area. Large beach for were logs are allowed. Lake affect keeps this park cool, even in July.... More

We camped here last week and loved it! The cordwalk trails from the campground to the nature center give you the feeling that you are out there totally alone - I crossed paths with other people very rarely. They do a candlelight walk on the path during summer weekends that I wish we were able to do (we camped M-F).... More

Beautiful hiking trails, stargazing, wildlife watching, views of Lake Michigan to name a few of the park's attractions.
