This was our first visit to Racine Zoo and we had a great time. It is only a small zoo compared to Lincoln Park and Milwaukee but that makes for a very relaxing visit. Our 2 year old could wander around freely whilst there was enough to keep the 11 & 12 year olds occupied. Giraffe feeding and bird feeding... More

We used to go when the zoo was free for Racine residents. It wasn't great then. So when we came back to the area to visit and noticed they had done some work on the zoo and was now charging $8 per adult, and $6 per kid, I thought maybe it was better. The site CLAIMS (and I should add,... More

I have been to the Milwaukee County Zoo plenty of times, but I actually think the Racine zoo is much more hands-on and interesting! The giraffe feeding was great, and you actually get up close and feed the giraffes. Also the aviary cage was fascinating, the birds would just fly around and land on your arms and shoulders. The landscaping... More

Racine zoo remained a free zoo for decades and I have fond memories of ice skating on the frozen zoo pond playing red rover and crack the whip in the winter. Sadly they had to put up fences and charge fees - to protect the animals. It is a nice, easy inexpensive relax that you should enjoy if you are... More

Most of the animals were missing and the ones that were out and about looked rather unkempt. I am a little disappointed that there hasn't been any significant improvement since the admission fee was instituted.

We're glad you came to visit this Wednesday! Some of our animals, such as the West caucasian tur, are shedding their winter hair and may look a little messy this time of year! Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do to help the process! Since it was a nice day, most of our animals were out and about enjoying the... More

It is really nice that Racine keeps this up. It used to be free but now it costs $8 to get in, $7 for seniors, and $6 for kids. The grounds are nice but the animals are few by normal zoo standards. To me it seems the same as years ago when it was free. I think costs for keeping... More

Racine Zoo is great for a small zoo. You only need a couple of hours to see everything. We took our young grandchildren and they loved it. I would highly recommend it. When you are done at the zoo, don't forget to take a stroll on the beach that is adjacent to it.

I have been to the Racine Zoo several times and it is a very nice facility. It is small enough to cover all the exhibits in one afternoon. This zoo is open year round and parking is free. On Veterans Day, admission for military is free.

I enjoy the Racine Zoo very much! It's a great place to bring preschool children, we come at least once a week, however this time I would like to warn all parents/Teacher and caregivers to keep the children away from the plexiglass ( off the step) at the meerkat exhibit. I witness a two year old GO OVER! The adult... More

VERY few small towns are able to hold a ZOO in its confines and this one is RIGHT on the Lake over a beautiful beach. The Zoo has quite the expanse and is worth a visit on a sunny warm day. Much effort has gone into this attraction to keep it fresh and entertaining for the locals and visitors to... More
