Great local zoo, but areas of opportunity

I have been to the zoo many, many times and do like it. For someone who is local and will likely visit more than once, I would recommend a membership as it is affordable and comes... read more

This zoo is smaller than most, but such a nice place. It's along the lake shore with beautiful views. The animals were nice, and lots of interactive things to do with kids. There are some really nice park areas, and you can pet goats and sheep and birds that will come and fly to your hand. It was a very... More

I have been to the zoo many, many times and do like it. For someone who is local and will likely visit more than once, I would recommend a membership as it is affordable and comes with animal encounter tickets foe aviary and giraffe feedings. The zoo is clean, the animals seem well taken care of and the zoo is... More

We recently took our 10 month old to the Racine Zoo for the first time. This is a great size and was stroller friendly. She was able to see the animals from her stroller. She especially enjoyed the meerkats, lions, and the petting zoo section.

This is an old fashion, back in the day zoo. It's a smaller size zoo, with the animals closer than the 'big' zoo's. The buildings are old but have character. We were there on a Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded, another perk. It's a great zoo to take smaller children too as we did with our 18 month old... More

We arrived at the zoo and immediately turned to the right to use the restroom. These seemed to be fairly clean and easily accessible. Then we headed to the Great Cat Canyon to look at the lions who were very easy to see. There are multiple viewing areas and it looked like there were 4 lions in there. We couldn't... More

The zoo has improved since the last time us was there but still don't like the price for the quality.

Racine Zoo isn't the most impressive zoo in the world. It's relatively small (though I've certainly been to smaller), not terribly convenient for us (but probably moreso if you live in the area), and there's no reciprocity with the Zoo Pass for Milwaukee County Zoo so there is a fee to get in (but not to park). That being said,... More

I grew up with this zoo as a free attraction. Now there is a small fee, but it's still worth the price to walk around. It would be nice if they had a few more food options (maybe some food trucks), so I'd recommend packing a picnic lunch or not staying over the noon hour. We spent almost 2 hours... More

I was very saddened to see these beautiful animals in such small enclosures. The lioness with her 3 Cubs was in a enclosure that in my opinion is extremely small for the size of these big cats. The rhino looked extremely depressed, the camels fur looked matted. The orangutan looked miserable. I don't understand why the zoo has so much... More

I really LOVE this zoo. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The signage is excellent. The exhibits are wonderful. There are supervised feedings of the giraffes and camels. I especially love the Norco Aviary with its three hundred colourful birds. For $2 you can purchase a seed stick and feed them. The resident cockatiel, Cherub, will win your heart with... More
