There are many artists and galleries, but you have to go inside the buildings as they are on upper floors and not visible from the street. There were a lot of good restaurants and shops and decent (not overly priced) parking. We spent the entire day walking through this cool area.

We spent a few hours in the third ward this weekend. We checked out various shops and boutiques. We explored The Milwaukee Public market and Retique (Goodwill's best of the best at reasonable prices). We felt safe and took in some cool architecture and sites along the way. I haven't been to this area for many years and it sure... More

The Third Ward is a great neighborhood to visit! There are many really good restaurants, shops and sights to check out. Make sure you stop into the Public Market and take a walk along the river!

Plenty to do in this historic district of Milwaukee. Restaurants, shopping, centrally located in the downtown area. Parking can be a pain at times but still a fun and worthwhile trip. Check out Busy's Back Alley Speakeasy for a taste of the 20's, and be sure to visit the sculptures near the river. (Pretty Christmas tree during the holiday season,... More

Start 2015 Spring Break, we had a lovely warm afternoon to shop in the Third Ward. We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of retail and thrift stores and restaurants in the Warehouse District. Pendelton was located in the old fire station that had the large wooden garage door open--really cool space. Red Elephant Chocolate Shop was stocked full Easter... More

If you want to get acquainted with milwaukee do the Milwaukee Photo Walks tour which starts inthe third ward and ends by the art museum. Giving you plenty of photo ops along the way. The Third Ward is a nice place to wander around when the weather is warm. You can walk the Riverwalk, and have a nice meal overlooking the river (Rustico patio or MKE Ale House patio). Many other restaurants/bars, but you may have to hunt them down. Hinterland has a great Monday night HH special - the best $5 Pho you've... More
