Being from Chicago we have a little bias on what is good or not in a city but the Third ward has a lot of charm. If you really want a good look at it take a food tour here to learn some of the history and taste some great food!

We went for lunch and discovered the Spice House in the Public House and several nice little shops. You can find parking, but you may have to walk a fair distance from one end of the neighborhood to the other. We enjoyed it!

The Third Ward area has several good restaurants and is also very close to the Public Market which is a collection of indoor little restaurants and walk-up places to get all kinds of food. There are a few unique stores in the Third Ward like Anthropologie, a neat shoe store called Shooz and some others. It is especially nice to... More

Public market was the best. What a great concept! All these shops under one roof were really well done. People were very friendly & service was great. What a great part of town. lot's of history too! redevelopment in this area is quite the refresher!

This is a fun area when weather permits. They have many good bargains if you look. Their art festivals are worth visiting, as many of their artists have unique and gorgeous items (especially photography). They could use a few more food vendors who don't sell hot dogs, brats, waffle cakes, or popcorn.

this is a very nice place , no Italian restaurants now that 3rd Ward Cafe is gone, but still a great place just to hang out and walk around . I hear from the 262ers (area code) how dangerous it is downtown , we have lived downtown East Side since 85 and have NEVER had an issue, it young ,... More

This is by far my favorite area in Milwaukee, it's classy, convenient and a paradise for people watchers. Boutiques, artsy shops and Milwaukee Public Market all in one convenient area. I come here as often as I can during the Summer, parking is free on weekends.

What a wonderful evening, roasted chestnuts, cookies, hot cocoa. Live reindeer, irish dancers, a beautiful tree lighting, and topped off by beautiful fireworks over the river. Kids had a great time, they even have warming stations. My only disappointment was the lack of bathroom facilities.
