My husband and I were visiting Milwaukee and stumbled upon this theater. It is 87 years old and incredibly charming. Landmark theaters are our favorites no matter what city we are in, but this was probably our favorite one. It was also great to enjoy a glass of wine during the film. We can't wait to return on our next... More

The Oriental is a delightful throwback to movie palaces of the 1920s-40s. The interior is truly a visual treat. If moviegoing for you is more than just watching a film - i.e., a complete experience to be enjoyed - going to a show here makes a trip to Milwaukee worthwhile.

Great place! Architecture of the theater alone is worth seeing. They carefully pick the movies shown there and I can always count on the Oriental to have the movie I want to see.

Time has stood still. The Oriental allows you to step back to a time of grand theatre architecture and ambience. The bar is open for you to enjoy that G&T or that glass of wine. And for an extra special piece of history, take in the Saturday midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

I will always go to the Oriental first when they are playing a movie that I want to see. The organ on Saturday nights is a plus, and the atmosphere is out of this world. Keep it up!

I hadn't been to the Oriental in probably decades. I recently went to a locally made documentary being shown at the Oriental and I was wowed all over again! they don't make theatres like this anymore. The detail is just breathtaking and this is truly one of Milwaukee's gems!

This is a vintage Art Deco theater that specializes in indie movies. There is delicious crispy popcorn here, and the snack selection is eclectic. The largest theater is something to behold and will keep newcomers occupied before the movies start.

We loved our trip to the Oriental last night! At nearly 90 years old, this cinema has charm and character in abundance. You could spend the length of an entire movie just exploring its nooks and crannies, from the Buddha sculptures to the movie posters, original chandeliers...you name it! What's on is slightly more than your standard big-budget fare. It's... More
