I visit this library at least once per month & am pleased to state that it has become a city landmark. It's librarians and staff/support are friendly and compassionate towards the patrons. The reading material, computer lab and various meeting rooms are a great benefit for all to use & enjoy. Lastly, the physical space has been refurbished and is... More

the building is small but contains a good collection. The staff is excellent. Always a computer available Lots of children's events and movies. Lots of cd's to borrow. Also, if you reserve a book it usually is available within 2/3 days.

Once also housed the city museum...this us classical architecture but also with modern twists. Love the mosaics and the rotunda...almost a mini-Library of Congress.

Wednesdays at noon you can take a free tour that lasts about 20 minutes of the green roof. It's kind of a big deal as it was one of the first to be done in Milwaukee. It has solar panels and sedum plants. There's also a section in the library which focuses on being more green- has some information running... More

This beautiful building was built in the early 1900's. It has a great entryway. This building is a test of time. It is a must see when in the Downtown Milwaukee area. It has a lot to see, more then just books and reading material.

I did not walk around the library much. I just went into the lobby and took some pictures. It was extremely beautiful. It was worth just going in just to see that. I'm a huge fan of architecture and engineering marvels.

Cool building ~ A great way to enjoy it is to take the Free Tour on Saturdays at 1:30pm. You'll learn about the architecture, the history, and services that they provide to the community.

Even links with Marquette's Graduate Law Library, when necessary!! They will bend over backwards to track down any book in their system, no matter how obscure or infrequently-read it is!

This is one of the iconic old public buildings that still has the cool stuff. THe lobby has been redone to the original splendor- mosaic tile floor, fake marble columns, high ceiling, etc. Even the stacks are fun to walk around in.

Nice Architectural Detail inside and out. Nice place to go to relax a little bit. The staff seem friendly that I spoke with. If walking there from downtown areas or the University the neighborhood is OK. I would still be aware of your surroundings. Not sure how it would be at night time in that location. If it part of...
