The extensive collection of microfilm and books is a researchers dream. The architecture is great to look at and the atmosphere is helpful and friendly.

I was a bit surprised that this library design was the result of a nationwide competition. However, the winner was a local firm, so the fix might have been in. It is a lavish building, and the lobby is worth a visit. Can't offer anything on the collection. It won't make you forget the Boston Public LIbrary.

So far, I must say this is one of the most beautiful libraries that I have ever visited (I need to visit the Library of Congress still). I came back a second time during my vacation here, because I loved it so much. Besides the vast amount of books here, the Neo-renaissance architecture of this library is spectacular and the... More

I thoroughly enjoyed a couple hours in the gorgeous Central Library, and its breathtaking architecture. I was there for some family research and the librarian in the Humanities section was EVER SO MUCH more than helpful - THANK YOU, Heather! She helped me find city records for my family, found other resources where they were employed decades ago - I... More

A down town icon. I can't imagine how many hundreds of thousands of people have wandered it's isles. A true old fashioned library, well preserved.

Lovely old building that really looks like a Library. Floors upon floors of tomes for all tastes, vocabularies, age levels, and languages. Exhibits are world-class and worthy of your time. Very friendly staff will help you get just what you want to read. Come, learn and enjoy!

I go on the internet to pick out the books I want to read. It is easy and there always are helpful tips about other authors that I have not read. You can pick the Library that you want the books to be picked up at. When the books are there they email you and you go there for the... More
