I was surprised to find out how modern the inside felt for such an old church. The seating is on individual chairs set in an arc with the kneelers on the chair in front of you. The music was very good. We attended 9:30 mass on a Sunday morning and could park easily out front. The church is very ornate... More

This church is not as impressive as we had expected. It was easy to get to, and we were able to park right out in front (meter). There isn't much to look at, and we were only there a few minutes. If you are in the area, stop and look, otherwise, pass.

As the seat of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, this Church is just as beautiful as you would expect. Gorgeous stained glass, impressive architecture, and incredible sound quality. The choir is beautiful during Mass. The Cathedral is open during the day and very quiet - great for folks working downtown who need a quiet place to pray and think.

Before the modernization, it was a very beautiful Cathedral. Attending Mass with Bishop Dolan was very very heart warming.

I had never seen the church prior to the "changes" so I had nothing to compare it to, but I attend a mass with my nephew prior to his confirmation and was impressed. Afterwards, we were given an informational tour, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The history of the church is impressive. There is also, now an interesting ghost tour that... More

Awesome architecture, serene and peaceful. Worth a visit even if you don't attend mass

If you are a church architecture buff you have to this cathedral. Interesting blend of modern and traditional aspects. The sanctuary cross is a marvel.

This is the home of the Archbishop. Several years ago it was dramatically modernized with more flexible seating. Christmas concerts are marvelous. Beauiful place for mass.

I was staying a block from the St. John's Cathdral and decided to take a look inside. It was immediately apparent that someone thought the cathedral needed "updating" and made two ghastly changes: 1. A huge crown of thorns and crucifix hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the interior is hideous in so many ways it defies description.... More
