You don't have to hail from Milwaukee to appreciate this place of nostalgia and history, but those who are from Milwaukee will greatly enjoy the LARGE and well displayed collection of that city's memorabilia. The nifty way it is displayed, in separate rooms within a large old house, each having a certain theme, such as railroads, a doctor's office, a... More

On Sunday afternoon, I visited the Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear for the first time. What a great find as a tip on TripAdvisor! I live in the area, but had not heard of this museum before. The staff was so helpful! The first presentation of the extensive collection of Abe Chudnow was great fun to explore to get unique Milwaukee... More

It is so small that you'll almost miss it if you're not careful. But don't miss it - it is one of the coolest small museums I've ever been to. The man in the museum said that everything in the museum was collected by the man who owns the home that the museum is housed in, so it has never... More

We appreciate you writing a review. We have only cataloged about 1% of our artifacts and want to be historically correct in what we display. We do change out entire exhibits about once every few months right now and are adding to the current exhibits on a weekly basis as the research continues. Thank you for visiting and we look... More

The kids and I went here after seeing the great TripAdvisor reviews, and it did not disappoint. The house has been converted into a small museum full of artifacts from between the wars ('20s and '30s). Each room has been set up as a store, doctor's office, barber shop, soda fountain, etc. Abe Chudnow was apparently a collector of a... More

Thank you so much for making us part of your family's trip! The late Mr. Chudnow collected artifacts based on stores and businesses from the 1870s through the 1980s. The period between the World Wars that we exhibit show some of his family's Milwaukee shops. "Dang! That's Good Soda" is a new addition to our gift shop and soda fountain.... More

It was fun, it showed you what it was like in the 1920's-1940's about. There is a little theater in the building that showed you short clips. Like steamboat willie. In parts of the building, there are buttons that you can press. For one of them, it was a pepsi cola advertisment back then. Worth visiting.

Thank you for visiting us! As you point out, the movies and sound buttons help create the feeling of how life was like in the '20s to '40s. We appreciate you taking the time out to write a review. More

In town visiting family and saw this on TripAdvisor. I love it when locals don't know about great attractions like this one and an out of towner can turn them onto it. This small place packs in the history of Milwaukee between the two world wars. The curator Joel did a fantastic job touring around our family group including many... More

We are glad you found us on TripAdvisor and decided to make us a part of your Milwaukee experience! As we are less than two years old, the word is still spreading about our museum and sites like this are wonderful for that. All of our staff and docents give excellent tours and will try to steer the stories or... More

We had a family friend coming to town and had already taken her to various museums and attractions during past visits, so I did an online search for options in Milwaukee and found the Chudnow Museum. Our party was me, my husband, our family friend, our two boys (ages 7 and 12) and a neighbor kid (age 8). All were... More

Thank you for your visit and your review! A local theater set designer and team, Edge Grain, helped us in the initial construction of the museum just less than two years ago. We are pleased that you appreciate the museum's immersion style, especially perfect for group sizes similar to yours. Yes, our "20s Facts" debut for the night of our... More

This is the best "small museum" I have ever visited. I was in town with my Grandpa and Dad for a Brewers game, and we had some time to spare. I had seen the great reviews for this museum and suggested we give it a shot. I am so glad we did. Each room in the house is a replica... More

That is high praise and we very flattered and appreciative of your review. We are always on hand if you have questions and we learn quit a lot from our visitors stories and... More

Thank you Steve for giving us all such a great tour of the Chudnow Museum. It was like stepping back in time, and we all really enjoyed our trip! I look fwd to revisiting in the future when you rotate other collections for display, and I also plan to attend your private showings of old movies in the Chudnow Cinema.

The Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear is a refreshing, yet educational view of Milwaukee's history during the Inter-War Years. Their collection of advertising and product memorabilia rivals that of the Milwaukee Public Museum's Streets of Old Milwaukee. Staff and tour guides are friendly and informative, while their events are unique and use the museum space in a way that interacts with... More
