Visit on any day and the center has 6 miles of easy trails, including down to the Lake Michigan beach and to an observation tower. We visited on the first weekend of the month when they had raptor exhibitions in the main building. The main building is mainly used for pre-school and other educational endeavors, with full size displays of... More

This Nature center has been there for years. A well center used by many, there are family activities and programs for school children. This is a must year round center, with winter activites.

On Labor Day I took three of my kids (ages 2 to 5) to the Schlitz Audobon center in Bayside. We spent a little over 2 hours there mainly walking the trails, visiting the beach, climbing the observation tower and looking at some of the displays in the welcome center. It was nice seeing this much land set aside for... More

185 acres of pristine land along the shore of Lake Michigan with over 6 miles of trails not to be missed! We took a family trip and we welcomed with a raptor presentation. The kids loved learning about Skywalker the red tailed hawk and Orion the barred owl. We casually explored the trails along the lake and climbed the observation... More

And visit here all the time. It's a great place, to get out and be in nature without trekking too far from the city. Lots of wildlife and trails. A great place to take the family.

Wonderful, beautiful - but would like marked trails - or a map that matched the trails. We got lost - but it was a nice lost, saw part of the park we didn't expect to get to.

A beautiful escape to anoher world. From the tower, where you have a beautiful view to the horizon, to the trails, the trees and foliage, to the many fascinating birds, to the beach, it's just an amazing way to get away from the world and relax.

We usually go here a few times a year to check out the latest season and to see the animals inside. They have a nice gift shop with useful gift ideas. I like going there in winter for snowshoeing because they often have a roaring fire indoors and you can sit in front of it in the rocking chairs and... More

We really enjoyed the trails at Schlitz Nature Center. They were well cared with good signage. We climbed the tower and walked the beach too. The only thing that was disappointing is the number of exhibits and area inside the nature center. Much of the building is used as a pre-school and we missed the birds of prey talk. Not... More
