Discovery World was a surprise for us. It sounds like a kids place but its not. There's an "aquatarium" (that's what they call it) that appropriately focuses on the Great Lakes. Climb up to the level with the boat and check out the experiments to see how you would fare if you were operating the ship! The museum currently houses... more

From reading other reviews it seems people went to a different museum than I went to. We were very impressed with the offerings. It was a great ALL ages museum (except perhaps very young children who would benefit overall more at a children's museum yet there's still things for the youngest to enjoy). Rarely do you find a museum both... more

Don't expect much from Discovery World. I found it to be very expensive for what it has to offer. It is small and some exhibits seem immaturish. The webiste leads you to think that the place and exhibits are actually bigger than they are. The aquarium was the best part of the whole experience. The staff was helpful and they... more

I was pleasantly surprised by the Discovery World. I had read several lack luster reviews of the place and was a little leery about going and spending the money for it. Between parking (~8) to the admission (~17), I had some reservations about it. However, I am very glad we went. My husband and I got to the museum as... more

My daughters, both two, thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Discovery World. I was especially impressed with the aquarium, because it has unique features like glass floors and a walk-through tunnel. I've been to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, and I do not remember these features there. Sure, to compare, there is less quantity, but this is compensated for by the... more

A bit over priced, but fun for families with kids. The aquarium was nice, but the place is rather small. If you can't get to Chicago or Omaha for the big stuff, this is a nice time close to home. more

Was not a good experience. Over rated. The place is actually dirty. We are in our 40's and did not enjoy it at all. The aquarium is small, expected so much more. They say they have a cafe, it's gas station food. Hard buns with semi heated hot dogs or brats and a bag of chips. Admission to get in... more

Visisted on the 15th Feb, spent three hours here. My main reason for visiting was to see Les Paul's House of Sound. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Theatre show about Nikolai Tesla's work, this was well worth the $4 extra. This really scares the kids. The Les Paul exhibit had plenty of hands on experiences and charted his... more

Discovery World is a great place - more like 3 museums in one. It has a myriad of science exhibits, a world class aquarium and the replica of the ship the Challenge. I go there with my 18 month and 4 year old all the time and they love it. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is... more

We visited on November 22, 2008. There are still 2 small areas under construction. But there was still plenty to do and see. The aquarium, although small by some standards, is excellent. Lots of different fish, good identifcation, and a "petting" area. The Les Paul House of Sound is also excellent, even if you don't pay for the video experience.... more
