We went as a family here, it was open late one night and we decided to go. We were almost the only people there. It was almost like that movie with Ben Stiller, Night at the Museum. It was a bit creepy in some areas, but it was cool to not be bothered by anyone else. It was so quiet,... More

You have to take your family here!!! Utterly amazing museum right downtown and within walking distance to hotels and restaurants. My kids loved the life like villages and animal dioramas. Awesome exhibits so life-like, my kids thought we were at a Night at the Museum episode! Butterfly pavilion and live exotic insects too.

This muesum is a must do for visitors to Milwaukee. It has an extensive collection of exhibits for all age ranges anf even has a butterfly enclosure to walk through. I would recommend going when they have a feature exhibit like the dead sea scrolls, or Egyptian mummies, it makes the museum more fun. Also ask about discounts, if you... More

This museum is very similar to the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. It has exhibits of peoples and animals from all over the world. Although the dioramas are perhaps better than the AMNH (sacrilege, I know), the quality of the artifacts does not match those in NYC. Despite this, the breadth of the holdings is stunning. Labeling is... More

This should be at the top of your sites not to be missed. Plan to spend at least half a day. It is close to public parking facilities.

As a citizen of Milwaukee we enjoy the museum but unless they have a new special exhibit, visiting once every other year is more then ample. It would be nice if the exhibits would be freshend up, they are very dusty and just look dull.

I took my 5th graders here for a field trip over the years. Their enthusiasm kept me going back. The Streets of Old Milwaukee are my favorite. You feel like you are walking down a cobblestone road in the past. People in the displays took so real.

We have had a family pass for years which allows us to take our four grandchildren. There are so many exhibits, many of which have become favorites, that they now know where among all the displays to find what they want on a given day. Increasingly they learn more about the displays from the signage and over the years they... More

I really enjoy going to the library, they have a great selection of books, magazines, and dvds. I usually can find what Im looking for, if not, they will have it ordered from another library.
