Beautiful building interior and attractions (no matter how old they might be). Never a waste of time or money. IMAX is an extra charge, and never fails to impress.

Growing up I was spoiled by this museum...We moved away and I spent the next decade being disappointed in every museum I ever went to because nothing could compare. This place is so cool, and I am a museum junkie. I haven't found one that compares to it. Yes, there are the mega museums in NYC and DC. I've been... More

This is a great museum for families. The exhibits are well described and upon entry you are face to face with a Mammoth found only a few miles from the musuem’s location. There are cut marks on some of the bones which tells us that over 14,000 years ago, hunters butchered this mammoth. This is the oldest confirmation of human... More

Great museum. Great place to go on a weekend after your hangover has subsided and feel like you need a little history and information. I always try to go here on my trips. It's very archaic and yes it could use a few updates but it has charm and I always have a fun time. And I can just imagine... More

I went here with my 11-year old daughter and enjoyed it a lot. She liked the alien exhibit, which I didn't find very substantial. The dioramas are nice, and it is so comprehensive with pottery, weapons, textiles, and model rooms from every corner of the world.

The bottom floor was very interesting. Dinosaurs and nature stuff. Second two floors I felt were skippable, although I don't have too much of an interest in Wisconsin history.

My son took me here while visiting, I was very impressed. From the butterfly room (which was my favorite) to the old streets of Milwaukee there was so much to see. Truly an educational and fun experience. Everything was well done and the museum was so clean. A great way to spend a cold day:

We had some friends in from Ct. and took them to he Public Museum a couple of weeks ago. They went away really impressed. Both the old streets of Milwaukee and the Ethnic streets were not only like being in the past but all the people were so real like that you had to take a second look. The dinosaur... More
