We had the better part of a day unscheduled in Milwaukee and chose this museum without doing much research. I'm very glad we did, as this is truly an excellent museum. There were very good displays of every continent on the planet and the people that lived there. Unfortunately we did not allow ourselves enough time to truly explore it.... More

The museum is a special place to visit. I recently returned with my family after not being there since I was a child. There are some things that have not changed that I love and some new exhibits that wow my daughter. Love the Butterflies and the Dinosaurs. The old world exhibit is a classic.

We came to see a couple "pirate friends" of ours. We were blown away by the entire pirate display! WONDERFUL!!! From the short film to the end of the exhibit, the actors, artifacts, etc. we thoroughly enjoyed our time discovering the Whydah. While that was our main reason for visiting, we did a quick run thru the Streets of Old... More

Took my daughter to see the "Real Pirates" exhibit and the rest of the museum. She is 7 and LOVED it! The butterflies and rainforest were great! Honestly, a must see if you stop in Milwaukee... Bring your wallet though - it cost us just under $40 (as Milwaukee County residents) to get into the museum and special exhibit...

Although the museum can get a little pricey if you have a larger family and you want to take in the special exhibits, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this marvelous museum. Twice I've taken my children [now 10 and 15] to the National Geographic special exhibits there, [Cleopatra and Pirates], and we've enjoyed both immensely. Big drawback... More

We took our grandsons ages 7 and 9 to see the Pirate Exhibit at the MPM and it was amazing. The "actors" were both entertaining and informative and the displays were pretty cool. I would recommend it for kids a bit older because there is a lot to read in order to get the information. In hindsight, I should have... More

Went with my three children ages 14, 11, 8. We had a wonderful time. It is amazing to walk through the exhibits. Great presentation on the Native Americans of Wisconsin and a rotating platform of them dressed in their regalia to show what a pow wow would be. Pirates special exhibit was fascinating. Learned how the slave trade influenced pirates.... More

This was the second time I've been to this museum. Not a place you need to go to more then once. Nothing changes, first time took four hours to go through. This last time we were there for maybe a hour and a half. Is very neat place though if you haven't been to it. Strongly recommend it! 3 levels!

Really enjoyed this attraction today 4-13-13 at the Milwaukee Museum. For $26.00 you get a short film on the history of pirates like Sam Bellamy. How and where pirates started and why piracy ended. The finding of the pirate ship Whydah of the coast of Cape Cod and a lot of the treasures found are part of the exhibit and... More

Something for everyone! Archaeology, geology, biology, butterflies, pirates, villages, streets, ... I could keep going - there is so much to do and so much to see that one day wouldn't be enough. I would definitely go again and would definitely recommend everyone else go too!
