We went to The Domes recently for something to do and to get a mini-vacation from all the grey outside. It was a slow day when we went but very nice to have them basically to ourselves. The admission is not pricey at all and great for couples, family, and friends from out of town to go to.

This is a real jewel in the heart of Milwaukee. Not only is it a great place to see different types of horticulture, it also has M.U.G. (Mitchell Under Glass) on Thursday nights in the Winter. From 6:30 - 9:00 PM there's good music, food and fellowship.

I don't know of any other state that has this. Very inexpensive. One dome is Desert , one is tropical, and the other fits the season. Great place to have a pic nic lunch on the outside grounds. Well worth the couple bucks they charge.

The plants are great with them well taken care of however most did not have signs or information about the plants. This was truly disappointing. It was difficult to see which plant the sign belonged to as well. The outside of the building is in need of dire repairs. They have a nice little gift shop.

Great place to brighten a winter day. Nothing like checking out colorful flowers in the show dome, exploring the desert dome and walking through the tropical dome. I especially appreciate the Domes when I'm cooped up with the kids on a cold winter day, but they are a great place to visit year round!

While the domes are not necessarily an attraction one travels to my Milwaukee for, they are certainly worth a visit if in the area. There are three themed greenhouses with flora from its respective climate. A farmers' market also happens inside the domes in winter.

Great indoor botanical garden set in four glass buildings, hence the name "The Domes" Each one has a different part of the earth covered: jungle, desert, etc... Keeps children and adults interested. Staff helpful and you don't need a guide as there are plenty of people around to answer your questions.

No visit to Milwaukee is complete without a stop in at the Domes. Whether you like arid (hot and dry) or tropical (hot and humid) nothing like it on a cold January day. A variety of flora and fauna (birds mostly) to delight your senses. There's also a theme dome - currently a train show - that changes several times... More

This is my favorite place to go in the winter when the weather is cold and the only plants you see are in your house! This place is warm and filled with a wide variety of beautiful tropical plants and trees! It is like enjoying an hour of summer in the middle of winter. They also have some changing exhibits... Opened in 1967, The Domes are a really place to visit on a cold Milwaukee winter Saturday. Comprised of 3 indoor growing environments - tropical, desert and "show" the domes are play host to thousands of plants and flowers. The Show dome hosts music events and seasonal shows. However, the best reason to come is for the Winters Farmers Market... More
