The three 'domes' of the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory are well thought and laid out. There is a Tropical Conservatory, as well as a Desert and a Show Dome. The first two are all chock-full of well- and little-known plants that are typical of both regions. The Show dome has different themes throughout the year; when we were there, in... more

The Horticultural Conservatory was very pretty. It's a great way to do something inside that takes less than 90 minutes. We we're charged the local resident rate (I think most people are). If you like taking pictures of plants, trees, flowers, etc., this is your place. Less then 15 minutes from Downtown. more

We were visiting family in Milwaukee and went there. It was a nice quiet place to enjoy some plant life. It was well taken care of and the staff was very helpful. The park around it was nice too. Very nice. more

My husband and I spent an hour at the Domes last weekend, and we enjoyed our time there. We're not big plant/flower lovers, but we do appreciate pretty gardens. The Domes was a nice way to spend an hour. There are three domes - Desert, Tropical, and Garden, and we enjoyed all three. They were different and unique in their... more

This place is pretty neat if you like plants. My kids were bored but I thought it was a neat thing to see at least once. more

I love going to The Domes (what you call it in Milwaukee). I would definietly bring my camera. This place gives amazing pictures. I wish I could show you some that I took, but I just don't have the time to do it. I'll try later. Back to the subject. There are 3 domes, a tropical forest dome (my favorite),... more

Absolutely loved the domes. We visited in March and they had an exhibit of Lego art which was fascinating for the kids. There was a huge crowd on a Saturday afternoon so I'd suggest trying a weekday if possible. Well worth the $5. more

I've been visiting the Domes since they were built when I was a kid. They're still enjoyable, especially in the cold WI winter. There's nothing like a walk through the Desert Dome or Rainforest when it's below zero outside. The last dome changes seasonally. Now they even have some evening events where they light up the domes and have music.... more

Only expect to spend about an hour here, great to kill some time while waiting for something else. The only downside I had was that they were so short ~20minutes a dome. Tropical Dome is by far my favorite with it's heat and nice level of humidity. Arid Dome is a bit disappointing, I was expecting a dry heat and... more
