Great indoor botanical garden set in four glass buildings, hence the name "The Domes" Each one has a different part of the earth covered: jungle, desert, etc... Keeps children and adults interested. Staff helpful and you don't need a guide as there are plenty of people around to answer your questions.

No visit to Milwaukee is complete without a stop in at the Domes. Whether you like arid (hot and dry) or tropical (hot and humid) nothing like it on a cold January day. A variety of flora and fauna (birds mostly) to delight your senses. There's also a theme dome - currently a train show - that changes several times... More

This is my favorite place to go in the winter when the weather is cold and the only plants you see are in your house! This place is warm and filled with a wide variety of beautiful tropical plants and trees! It is like enjoying an hour of summer in the middle of winter. They also have some changing exhibits... Opened in 1967, The Domes are a really place to visit on a cold Milwaukee winter Saturday. Comprised of 3 indoor growing environments - tropical, desert and "show" the domes are play host to thousands of plants and flowers. The Show dome hosts music events and seasonal shows. However, the best reason to come is for the Winters Farmers Market... More

I am an avid gardener and lover of flora, however, while I was here for a wedding I enjoyed the plants and found the displays and arrangements interesting, I noticed that the Domes themselves were much smaller than I realized. Even pausing to read the tags and take in the beauty around me, I could have spent no more than... More

This is an inexpensive and interesting attraction that the whole family can enjoy without breaking the bank. We have visited all times of the year to enjoy the changing decor and exhibits. And we will continue to do so.

I have been here several times over the years, first with my grandmother and now with my own daughter. Liked the rainforest the best: many orchids, anthurium and the like - plus many lovely koi fish. The desert was also entertaining but not as colorful. As we came in December, the show dome was all poinsettias. Allow about 1 hr... More
