Again we were prompted by our Northwoods visitor to go somewhere warm. It just so happened that during this visit, we were welcomed by some flowering plants just starting to bloom. Although one of the three domes was closed for display preparation, the other two were enough to keep our friend 'happy'. Of course coming from the dreary very long... More

Three domes with one as the show house. It doesn't take too long to go through all the domes. I enjoyed spotting the birds in the tropical dome. Good variety and groupings in the arid dome. A nice respite from the rain.

We had a fun time touring the Milwaukee domes. It's a very kitschy place -- Bucky Fuller geodesic domes and dinosaurs and other critters sprinkled among the various plant environments. As a person who loves to visit gardens, I have to say that Milwaukee has an impressive collection of very varied and some unique plants. They are beautifully arranged and... More

Although a bit off the beaten track - it is out by 26th street - if you are interested in tropical, desert and show horticulture this is well worth the trouble to get here. Each dome has it's own distinct style and the tropical one has the advantage of birds as well. Check out if there is any special event... More

This is three domes with different environments inside, desert, tropical and a show dome which was closed. Nice plants inside but they are small and take only about 1/2 hour each. Kinda expensive for such a short attraction.

Drove passed the Domes on the highway. They were so distinctive that we had to go back. The gardens on display in the Desert dome and the Tropical dome are definitely worth a visit. As a Southern Californian, I had seen most of the plants in the domes but they were artfully displayed. I would think it would be an... More

One of the three domes, the Show Dome is closed for maintenance and inspection. The Tropical and Desert Domes more than make up for that, though, because they are always changing. Many of the cacti and succulents are blooming in the Desert Dome now. The Tropical Dome has a dinosaur display hidden among the multitude of plants, making it more... More

Three domes each containing different plants. A show dome, a desert dome, and a tropical dome. For residents of Milwaukee, this is probably a welcome retreat throughout the long, cold winters. For residents of desert climes or Florida/Tropics, it could be so much more. The plants are well cared for but not exotic. There is not much educational material. The... More

The conservatory offers winter-weary Wisconsinites and their visitors an opportunity to escape the cold and surround themselves with a little bit of summer. The gardens are beautiful and well-maintained. It was a great place to spend the afternoon.
