A Variety of Talented Entertainment

We are season ticket holders for the plays that are performed at the Mabel Tainter. We highly recommend the Mable Tainter experience.

Good place to go for a dress up dinner theatre. Old seats and balcony. Many local plays are put on here. They have a gift shop. Nice tour during weekends. Self and assisted tours are available. I would plan on going here for a dress up night with dinner. Nice place if you are in the area but I would... More

beautiful theater - not a bad seat in the house that I could find. I look forward to attending more plays.

This beautiful theater is located in the downtown area, which is also a shopping and restaurant district with very friendly and helpful merchants, and located just on the northern edge of the University of Wisconsin (Stout). The theater has main floor and balcony seating, although there are not an abundance of seats, I'm estimating perhaps150-180 seats. The wood seats have... More

We just got done watching the performance of Willy Wonka. Exceptional! My husband, myself, and parents attend at least one play a year here, and sometimes we bring our children, as we did tonight. The kids loved it, and stayed focused. I am amazed, every single time, how they can find such talent!!! The building is beautiful, full of history,... More

Beautiful treasure - hard to believe something this unique sits right in our midst! Theater has great acoustics, no matter where you sit, you're close to the entertainment. 3 levels of the building often display local artists talents and a variety of entertainment choices. Fun to take the self guided tour - find all the hidden history - I heard... More

Step back into the time of the Wisconsin lumber barons as the Theater was built in 1889. We enjoyed the Gershwin matinee performance with some terrific local talent from this college town.

This theater is a gem. The building is a memorial to Mabel Tainter who died when she was a teenager, built by her father who was a lumber baron. It is a monstrous Romanesque style building. From the outside there is not a hint that it contains s theater. But surprise! The beautiful theater and other gorgeous rooms are there!... More

With a very active community theater guild and a full assortment of professional and amateur performances to choose from, this gem of a performing arts center offers something for everyone. Recently remodeled, it is very accessible. The architecture is stunning with elaborate stained glass windows and original oil paintings. It is truly a community treasure.
