Smaller for a WI State Park and maybe not as well kept. The park itself is just OK, But the positive points; it has a new bath/shower house that is very nice. Has 4 or 5 totally private shower rooms, brand new and very nice. Also within 2 miles of an upscale tourist town, so easy to reach by bike.... More

I loved the pond on the lake side of the park. Everything in that area was very well-maintained, and there were a few people fishing and picnicking. It was much less crowded than the park along the water in downtown Lake Geneva, but parking is comparatively expensive ($10 all-day vs $1/hr downtown). Given the sizes of the relative crowds, I'd... My husband dropped me off with my camera while he went to get coffee in Lake Geneva one morning. I walked around the little pond and on one of the trails next to the pond. I got a lot of nice pictures of some geese that were there with their babies. The only other people around were people cleaning(maint. on... More

Stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. It rained almost the entire time we were there so we didn't get to venture much on the trails. The campground itself is nice- the spots are spacious and flat. We were a group and fit 2 tents on each spot. The brand new bathroom building was very nice though a little odd. There... More

If you want a state park go to Bong instead. I'm a local and we visit here during the week when it's empty. A couple weeks ago we went on a Saturday. We hike alot and are always meeting friendly and talkative people on the trails. We were blown away by the coldness and rudeness of the people (out of... More

The trails were wide and not that wet, considering we had gotten rain for the last 5 days. Unfortunately, I noticed the woods are mainly made up of invasive species (either garlic mustard, honeysuckle or buckthorn), so that was disappointing to see the property isn't being taken care of that well. The blue trail is a bit confusing at one... More

If you are going to the park for the beach you should take a pass. The beach is a very narrow strip of sand that is best accessed from the water rather than the land. While the beach is a congregating spot for pwoer boats on summer weekends, the beach in Lake Geneva is a much better spot for enjoying... More

We did not go here to camp, so I can't speak to the facilities, although the park in general is very clean. We visited at the end of October, and lucky for us, it was at the peak of fall color. The colors were quite spectacular. There are some nice little hiking trails in the park, nothing strenuous. There is... More

We hit this state park on a road trip to see the state parks surrounding the Chicago area. This park was a let down. The campsite was not flat, the beach was a thin strip of sand for which you had to cross a busy road, and the hiking trails were just blazed through brush. Would give it a miss... More

The park is very nice, campsites are great with lots of tress, very well taken care of. It is great for kids because of the big spaces and playground the park offers. The beach (which has a very small sandy area) is right at the exit of the park, super close you can walk there. The lake is beautiful, clean... More
