This lovely 21-mile walking path, around Geneva Lake, takes pedestrians by impressive homes and quiet lakeside neighborhoods. A two-mile swath on the West End offers a manageable stroll, lovely views, and passes landmarks such as the Abbey Resort and Fontana Spa and popular local eateries like Chuck's.

I often walk on this trail, during summer and fall. If you walk during the spring, make sure that it has not rained recently or you will come across lots of mud. It is gorgeous on both sides. The side towards Williams Bay has more of the historic mansions, although many can be found on the other side as well... More

I have walked the lake shore path quite a few times, usually for about an hour and a half one way, then enjoying the scenery from a different angle on my way back. The homes, gardens and history are so special and I really appreciate that the public is allowed to walk through the front yards of private homes. FYI... More

Walk the entire circumference of Lake Geneva, some 22 miles, or take it in 5 to 7 mile steps. Scenic walk through the front yards and docks of hundreds of gorgeous estates. No facilities, except in villages of Lake Geneva, Fontana and Williams Bay. Parking elsewhere may be a challenge. Bring water and snacks.

You can get your exercise and see Geneva Lake at the same time. Come on out for a hike on the public lake path that encircles the lake. It will take you all day, if you have the stamina to walk the whole thing; but plan your route first, your entry and exit point, and wear stable footwear. Homeowners must... More

Just take it in pieces ! I think the total walk is 22(?) miles , There are guide books you can buy, which make the hike more interesting because they highlight the historic estates . Most of the trail is family friendly BUT less hearty walkers might need their strollers or shorter adventures. A friend of mine and her two... More

This was a super fun part of my trip! It was a nice day and very sunny. A little cold by the lake, but overall the walk was worth it. The homes are beautiful and mindblowing.

The walk is a must do anytime of day. Walking to the West takes you to the big houses of Wrigley...very nice and you can walk it at any pace. We've walked to Williams Bay...7 miles and a few hills.

Can you walk 26 miles of beautiful lakefront access lined by multi million dollar mansions and do it for free. Set aside some time to enjoy the natural and manmade beauty of the lake, the homes, and the landscaping and walk in peace. Go with a friend and enjoy the conversation. You won't regret the time!
