We were surprised at how elaborate the shrine is as we expected only a small marker. We did not realize La Crosse had such an elaborate shrine. It actually is like a highlight of various shrines around the world- Lourdes, Our Lady of Fatima, etc. The votive chapel has gorgeous stained-glass windows as does the main church. The garden walks... More

Absolutely stunning! Beautiful shrine, beautiful church, beautiful chapel, beautiful grounds, views, people, the whole works! I am so glad we had to take an unexpected detour to LaCrosse after visiting this shrine!! Mark Cummings is an absolute doll and couldn't have been nicer!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! A lovely place to meditate, worship, and become closer to God. Wish we could have spent more time! Allow at least an hour but to really see all of the grounds and chapels you will want to spend 3 hours or more. Relics of saints, beautiful chapels & shrines, peaceful, prayerful....

Lovely summer day visit to the Shrine. The grounds are beautiful. The surroundings are relaxing. Need to walk uphill to get to the church, so have comfortable shoes. (Golf Cart transport is available if you can't make the hike). Many quite areas for prayer & reflection. Candle Chapel impressive. Statue of Mary near Memorial to Unborn is beautiful. Would be... I was blessed to visit the Shrine today on the Feast of Her Assumption into Heaven. We participated in Mass. The Shrine is a powerful representation honoring our Blessed Mother. During and after our visit, I felt and continue to feel moved and inspired. Very special place.

The shrine is an enriching spiritual experience -- like having a classic European shrine right in our backyard. I am confident that anyone - Catholic or not - would benefit from a visit. My sense is that this Shrine will have a key role in the spiritual awakening of our country -- encourage all to make a pilgrimage there.

Really lovely new location. The modern art and saints are fascinating. The spiritual feeling warm. Landscape some of the best the Driftless region has to offer

This is a newish church that is absolutely gorgeous. It is a bit of a hike to the shrine, but you can get a ride on a golf cart. There are some statues and things to see as you walk up though.

I had heard about this Shrine during several visits to La Crosse and finally this spring made not one but two stops. Not being Catholic, I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I learned and how incredibly beautiful this place is. What a meditative place to walk and see beautiful carvings and sculptures. The church is so gorgeous and... More

It was recommended that we visit here due to our history of miscarriages. The grounds are gorgeous and so peaceful. The church was huge (note to self-make sure you take the tour next time). But the highlight of the visit was the Memorial to the unborn babies. What a peaceful place to either entomb or memorialize your baby! It was... More
