We stopped by because my daughter saw a show about fried cheese curds and she figured that a place called Mars Cheese Castle would have them. They didn't however, they have the cheese curds and the coating so you can fry them yourself. It is definitely a tourist spot where you can get Sprecher's and Cheesehead hats and things like... More

Not sure what all the hype is about. It's essentially a grocery store which has a fairly large cheese department. They carry some area souvenirs if you need some and have a large statue of a mouse inside that kids might like. Unless you need to stretch your legs, you might want to keep driving.

I miss the old Cheese Castle as it was the epitome of Wisconsin cheese and beer hall. However the new building is well stocked with meats, cheeses, curds, and Wisconsin beers. The cafeteria has plenty of choices and the prices seem reasonable. Plenty of selection, clean restrooms, the new Cheese Castle is a great place. It just doesn't have the... More

I bit out in the middle of nowhere but a great little stop. We stopped in after a run up to Oshkosh. On the way back we took the opportunity to stop in & check in out. The outer facade is a little cheezy but the fine selection of Wisconsin souvenirs, cheeses & beers is quite excellent. Their prices are... More

I really like the old Castle better...it was so classic Wisconsin. But with the new larger place, there sure is a huge selection of unique food items, beers, wines, etc. The bar looked nice, as did the fast food selection of hot food. Be prepared to pay tourist prices though. But when you have to have a cheese curd fix...you... More

The employees behind the corner offering samples were very friends. There's a good variety of cheese, though considering the size of the store I would have thought there would have been even more. Several different kinds of cheese to sample which was good. Other items items offered seemed to be on the pricey side. My mom loved the blueberry cheese... More

Frankly, I loved the old Cheese Castle better. It was less busy, quaint, and had an awesome old style Wisconsin bar. But, still worth the stop if you're passing through. Great assortment of Wisconsin cheeses, beers, and wines.....but we warned, you'll pay the tourist price that close to the border!

Large selection of cheese and local beers. There is a small eatery inside that has unique floats.. Variety of cheese samples to try along with cheese curds. Locals recommended we stop here and we weren't disappointed.
