Saw a review of the Cheese Castle on local television, we had a free afternoon ahead of us, and since it was less than 1 hour away, we went for it. Place has a nice bar, bakery, sandwich & Ice Cream shop along with a selection of wines. Lots of condiments (flavored mustards, jellies, etc.) are also available. We found... More

Having traveled Wisconsin for many yeas And always having stopped at Mars or stuckey's on the way home, I was way disappointed in what i had remembered. Maybe that is all nostalgia, but It is not the old roadside stand that you Pulled into on the way home . It seems more like a mass merchant trying to sell cheese... More

We've been driving by Mars Cheese Castle (MCC) for the past 30+ years visiting family in Wisconsin and would periodically stop at the original MCC "shack" by the road. It was fun back then. You walked in and were warmly greeted and offered samples of cheese and sausages by the staff. You always felt that the building may collapse at... More

Very expensive tourist trap I would not bring my out of state visitors here. You're better off going to Woodman's. They have a larger selection and LOWER prices.

This area is a guys dream come to true - Beer, Cheese, and Brats. And the Mars Cheese Castle has it all including sandwiches. The castle is clean and well organized. Not sure prices are the best, but it is a tourist spot. We did pick up some fabulous cheese and had a good time at this stop!

Their sandwiches are all hand made, and depending on the crowd can take 15-20 minutes to get. Good bar area for watching footballs games, friendly crowd too. Bloody Mary's are a classic here too.

The outside was really fun, but the inside was just a regular supermarket. the only thing different was the mars cheese castle merchendise, and the huge cheese section.

Always a great stop for cheese curds and other old world foods. Also have a bar and restaurant for great sandwiches.

As a lifelong Wisconsinite, I always get a chuckle out of the Mars Cheese Castle and places like it scattered along our interstates. There's something weirdly endearing about shops that sell blocks of cheddar shaped like cows. We locals usually buy our cheese at the local supermarket. But, for the kitschy fun of it, the Cheese Castle is worth an... More
