What a wonderful place! I've been going to Oconomowoc to vacation for 30+ years and never knew about this place until my Wife found it online last year. About 30 minutes drive from where we stay, this little getaway was fantastic. Not only do they give you a spotted cow and some cheese, they take you on a very informative... More

Not particularly impressed by the 1 hour boat tour. It turns out that 1 hour isn't enough time to get very much into the marsh. The guide kept pointing things out that 'if you look really far off into the distance you'll see a ______, but we won't have time to get any closer'. I wish we had just rented... More

I did a 2 hour guided kayak trip with Marc at sunset. I had preorganised this via email. Marc was extremely knowledgable on the birds, the marsh and the area. I saw 1 month old baby eaglets, an eagle catching a large fish, many Canadian geese and goslings, herons, pelicans and much more. The sounds of the birds are amazing... More

This was a nice, hour long outing. The gentleman who drives the boat and guides the tour is very knowledgeable about the marsh and the wildlife. He even pointed out a bald eagle nest and then spotted one sitting on a branch quite a distance away. There is an informative 1/2 hour video prior to the tour about rebuilding the... More

Our captain knew all the bird by song and identification. He makes birding a group sport. Great to see the real side of the marsh from a boat. I have taken the tour a few times and no two trips are alike. Cute gift shop also.

We really didn't 'get' how special Horicon is until we took the Sunset Cruise. We learned the history and saw 35 different species of birds. On top of all that the sunset was gorgeous.

The marsh tour is one of those things i always wanted to do but never did. Finally decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. The tour started with a short video about the marsh and then we boarded the pontoon boat and set off for the tour. Our guide was personable and very knowledgeable. The seats were comfortable... My 10 year old nephew and I did this on the spur of the moment and were not disappointed. We learned a lot and saw a wide variety of water fowl. The highlight was seeing the bald eagle family that were nesting there. The guide told us a lot about the marsh, its formation, and the wide variety of wildlife... More

The driver had a heck of a time getting the motor going at start of trip. And it conked out midway on the tour. No danger-- the marsh is 2 feet deep. But the clunky motor provided the only excitement. Very little to see on the marsh (more birds in my backyard) and the driver/trip narrator repeats his views mercilessly,... More

We drove to the marsh for a day trip on a warm and sunny day. Life-long Wisconsin residents but this was our first time here. It is an impressive natural area. I'm happy that our federal and state government, with local push, had the foresight to protect and then manage this for us. The pontoon boat tour takes about an... More
