With no ropes and nothing under glass, guests are treated to a VIP guided tour of a National Historic Landmark replete with original furnishings and overflowing with the romance of the 1930s and ’40s. “Every time I was visiting with the Lunts in Genesee Depot, I was in a sort of daze of wonder; the dining room, the table, the china, the silver, the food, the extraordinary care and beauty and taste…a sort of dream, a vision.”-Katharine Hepburn « less

This is a lovely place to visit if you are interested in history of the theatre. The grounds are well kept and the exhibits are very informative. It makes me want to live back in the early 1900's. What fun they must have had here. Worth a visit - 2 hours.

This is a historic place to visit; home to Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt on 120 acres in Genesee Depot, WI. The successful acting pair led an exciting life and the home certainly shows that, along with the other stars they entertained there. May be most interesting to people that were entertained with that generation in the 20's, 30's, 40's,... More

What a wonderful way to spend a day. It is a great education into our acting history. The love and devotion the Lundt's had to acting is awe inspiring. To have a sneak peak inside their lives is a great treat. The grounds are beautiful, the hand painted muriels amazing. I am lucky enough to perform gardening through the Master... More

I didn't know about about this Lunt and Fontaine hideaway. The guides were very educational and entertaining.

I didn't know anything about the famous couple who owned this house, but I loved seeing how a glamorous theatre couple lived and entertained. The interior design was remarkable--dated, of course, but fascinating and fun. The grounds, including a couple of outbuildings and swimming pool, were beautiful. I came away with the feeling that this couple had lived well, and... More

Terrific and unique estate close to Milwaukee. The home is unique as are the furnishings and it is so well preserved. There are no ropes or places off limits. It is like being in these two fabulous stars home. Great guides who are passionate and very knowledgeable.

The knowledge and preservation of Tenchimneys was the cream of the region. The grounds in the fall is the side dish to a great experiance.

amazing for the time, the grounds, the pool, the people, and considering it's location. We enjoyed the visitors center and all that it offered, much better than Graceland.
