We went to the Governor Dodge state park on a summer afternoon. The park is pretty big and is one of the biggest in terms of the acres of land. There are quite a few trails in the park. We took one of them - the LakeView Trail. I was very surprised when I found out how ill-maintained the trail... More

Can you beat a $7 day at the beach? The park has two main beaches. We thought they were both a lot of fun. There was lots of sun, lots of shady spots, and plenty of grassy area with picnic tables.

During our short visit to this park, we went to the Stephens Falls and Spring House. It was approximately .5 mile hike round trip. It was worth the short walk, very interesting to see the Spring House. We also hiked on the Gold Mine Trail. We didn't complete the trail. It was flat, and we didn't see any landmarks, but... More

Great views and a great park. Lots to see for the nature lover in all of us. Lots to drive around to see or go take a nature hike. Worth seeing.

The ranger in this park is truly ridiclous!!! Our first night there 5 of us were talking around the campfire. It was almost 11pm. No one was loud, just merely talking. (Children were sleeping in the tent) Ranger Dave aka Barney walked into our site and immediately spewed warnings about "making us all return to our sites as it was... More

I have been to this park many times for hiking and water activities. This weekend we stayed at a near by camp ground and went to the park to swim. I feel the beaches are very clean and family friendly. Today there was probably 60 people at the beach. Lots of kids and parents swimming in the water while the... More

Great hiking. Definitely recommend the Stephen Falls hike, it is short, great to take kids too as it's not a long hike to see the falls.... it's a pretty small waterfall, but this is SE Wisconsin... Bring bug spray if hiking, lots of mosquitoes in the Lost Canyon hike, also found a tick on my husband's shoe, so check before... More

Though I'd been to Gov. Dodge to swim, I'd never camped here. Because there were 16 of us, we stayed at a group camp site. It was a nice site for our group because we were literally the only site on our side road so we didn't have to worry about bothering other people with our antics. The site was... More
