The zoo is small but has a nice selection of animals. You can feed ducks and geese. You can pet goats, and I believe pigs. My daughter loved the moneys. The zoo is adjacent to the park so kids can also play on the equipment. It is a fun afternoon stop.

My wife and I visited when we were in town visiting Circus World. It is obvious the people running the place are looking to bring it forward by getting rid of the row cages and working toward a new natural river otter exhibit. The price is way low (FREE) and there are only a few dozen animals, but it makes... More

If you are visiting Baraboo, a must see zoo and park. Great for all ages. There is an extensive well maintained playground/picnic area just down a hill behind the zoo. It has several shelters and many tables on an expansive grassy and shaded park. It also overlooks a small rapids on the Baraboo River which can be accessed by a... More

For a free zoo this was pretty good. The only complaint I had was that the bear needs some sort of water feature to cool off. The bear was panting the whole time, and was sitting under the tree to try and get some shade to cool off. Overall it was a good experience, the kids really liked it!

An attraction that is a must see before you leave Baraboo on vacation or on business is the Ochsner Zoo. It has been open year round since 1926. It currently has 15 different animal species. Most of the animals at the zoo looked happy and probably felt safe somebody is feeding them and giving them some shelter. I got some... More

This is not a very large zoo but we 4 adults spent nearly two hours here. The animal exhibits were very good and the staff were very personable and spent time talking about each animal like they were all pets.

As other reviewers have noted, this is a tiny zoo, with about a dozen exhibits, that is fun for kids- the younger the better. It takes about 10 minutes, at least for adults, to see everything. It is clean, the animals seem content, and my only concern is that some of them are pretty tubby- seem overfed, probably by visitors.... More

We went with 10-12yo kids and adults! This is a fabulous free little zoo. How can you not appreciate this little oasis and randomness in 20min. Loved it.

We stumbled across this place while going somewhere else in Baraboo. I can't believe we've never come across it! We're in the area every year for vacation. It's easy to get to and you jut park on the road or in the park parking lot. Even though it's really small, I think you can't beat a free zoo where the... More
