Don't like zoos, but it is well done

This is one of those leftover older era city zoos, but the animals look well cared for, probably there for life. I hope the stream in the wolf habitat will get running once spring... read more

Absolutely love this little zoo. I drive 120 miles at least 4 times a year to visit this zoo. LOVE the bears. If you are lucky enough to meet the staff feeding the animals, they are very caring to the animals and very friendly and informative to the visitors,

Visit is better in late Spring early Summer when more animals are presented. Very limited zoo animals, but the ground hogs are usually entertaining. Nice park to stroll around, no seating area available. Great place to take the kids and have an "old fashion" picnic with blanket on the ground. We visited in March, windy and cold, later Spring would... More

When a town the size of baraboo has a zoo you don't expect a lot. What you get is a small well keep zoo. Plenty of animals to keep a 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 yr old interested for a 1/2 hour or so. A summer visit would have been better and will happen.

The Ochsner Zoo is a free small city zoo. The zoo is well kept and the animals have spacious pens. They have signs near the animals explaining facts about them. The Prairie Dogs were really neat to watch.

This zoo is so cute and well maintained. The kids had alot of fun running around and feeding the animals. All the animals seemed well cared for.

It's your basic zoo. It's pretty cool as a child (there is a park that is connected to the back), but I wouldn't say there is anything too special about it. There is sometime an ice cream stand towards the front, but there is not a lot of life that happens here. It's a place you can spend about half... More

Ok! We admit it! We are locals and we love our little home town zoo. After all, how many towns the size of Baraboo have a zoo?! Our Grandson always enjoys seeing the animals especially the Prairie dogs. And a summertime visit would not be complete without visiting the volunteer run concession "hut" for ice cream and other goodies. There... More

Great little zoo. Free to get in but you don't have a lot of things to look at. Kills about 29 minutes. Probably great for the little ones.

We enjoyed this zoo so much we brought the rest of the family back the next day. This zoo is just big enough to enjoy for all ages! My dad can't do much walking &we we had a 4 year old - it was the perfect size for both.
