This is a steep short hike with nice views but it's very easy to Miss the balance rock. We went up the trail 2x. The first time we got to the top and had missed it. It it 1/2 way up the trail to the right of the trail as you ascend. The trail is steep and fun.

Your quads going up and your knees coming down will get a good workout. The steps are steep and about knee-high at times. Not for everyone. Steep drop-offs to the side, rocks slippery at times, be very careful!! We only went halfway up because it was crowded because of long weekend and we didn't want to risk a fall /... More

Don't do this in the middle of the day. Rough ascent. This is one of those climbs that, after you're done, you check it off and never care to do it again. You will sweat. Makes me think of Mt Sanitas in Boulder, CO, but without the payoff.

Even the kids liked this. Great views throughout the hike. Watch out for unsupervised kids racing up and down though.

Rock steps up the side of a mountain to see a rock balanced on a rock above the swimming beach. This is for sunny perfect days only. It was muddy, and slippery and no where to grab onto anything to hike up the hill. The trail wasn't marked and other people have to tell you where to go. There were... More

I wouldn't do this trail if it rained recently. This trail is quite radical and involves very steep, narrow steps. These steps get very slippery when wet. It can take days for them to dry off. I actually saw a man fall (he wasn't seriously injured). The really problem is on the way down. The steps are actually made from... More

My favorite trail in the park. This is a bit of a vertical trail, but steps throughout. Most can handle this trail, just stop as often as needed and enjoy the beautiful views. I had a routine a few years back of coming everyday after work, climbing this trail, then watching the sunset from Devil's Doorway. I wish I was... More

My husband and I took this trail and we really did know what we where getting into we where trying to get back to the North Parking lot where we parked our car. This is not for the faint of heart. Make sure you have plenty of water we did not and it was very warm and like I said... More

Love this trail, as it provides a great cardiovascular challenge and breathtaking views at numerous spots as you climb. I would not recommend this for very young children, but for anyone who has reasonable cardiovascular strength, this is a great hike and provides a nice workout.
