It's been many years since I've visited this park but I did a quick visit today. It was around 50 degrees, overcast, and raining but I drove all around the park and really enjoyed it. Mid-November there's no leaves on the trees and I could see features that are normally hidden. I also did a drive through the Quartzite campground... More

...dangerous. There have been quite a lot of accidents here, more than a few fatalaties. The trails are slick and uneven, no railings. You are literally on the edge of a sheer high cliff. If you are part mountain goat you'll be fine. We met many hikers with climbing gear carrying mats, as well as many families with tiny children...unusual... More

This park is hands down the best. I'm local and will tell you...avoid Memorial day weekend, labor day weekend and the 4th! OMG it's a madhouse and the ridiculous crowds take away the peace and serenity. You will look up the bluffs and they look like ant farms, there's just bank to bank hikers on the trails. Come visit the... More

Beautiful park with a wide variety of hiking trails, basic concessions in the summer, even boat rental. It's an hour drive from Madison but always worth it, even when our visit was cut short by bee stings (twice!). The Boulders Trail along the lake is a great easy hike on a paved surface. Kids love to climb around. Other trails... More

This place is amazing! We stayed in the campground for a 3 night 4 day stay. There is plenty to see and do at this beautiful park. It is close (30 minutes) to the Dells in case you decide to take a trip there. The only negative is that the price of wood was a little ridiculous in my opinion,... More

Loved it, great affordable getaway. Beautiful views, beach, rock climbing. A little pricey in the gift shop. Trails were free range to climb the rocks or take the trail. Loved it.If you look hard you can see the hubs and the kids climbing the rocks.

Forget the tourist traps and head to this beautiful state park. We love the hiking trails. There us a small beach area, and camping.
