It followed the cliffs over looking the sea caves .Several overlook spots gave you an excellent view of kayaks going along the caves .The trails in the forest... More

Thought this would be on the order of Mackinac Island. It wasn't. It seemed more for camping and canoeing than tourism.

My husband and I wanted to tour Madeline Island so we rented 2 mopeds. Helmuts were included. He carried our little Bichon Friese in her car seat/backpack. The mopeds were easy to learn to maneuver, in a parking lot right next door before heading out on the road. Their maximum speed is just under 40 mph, and they're easy to... More

Went over on ferry. Museum was good but documentary was horrid. Very few shops. Didn't have time for state park so can't judge that.

We had a blast, rented Mo peds from Motion to go, and tooled around the whole island. Beautiful vistas from every angle. We ate lunch at the Beach Club. Brews at the Burn Down Canvas roofed bar. Took the ferry from Bayfield, Wi and we highly recommend it. Glad we got back before it rained.

Great day tripping. Lots of foot traffic. Very cool taking the ferry over and back Small local boutique shots easy to walk to after getting off of the ferry.

The large island visible from Bayfield is Madeline Island which is a ferry boat ride away. It has shops, a museum, restaurants, and a state park that is driving, biking, or a long distance hike from town. If you are looking for a unique family experience, even Disneyland can't offer a car ride aboard a ferry boat to an island.... More

We took the ferry from Bayfield which was about a 20 minute trip. Drove to the State Park and mostly drove around seeing if things had changed since we were there last 30+ years ago. It's not too different! Quiet, woodsy, friendly. We stopped at the Island Oasis for a beer and water on a hot day and were greeted... More

My fiancé and I took the ferry out to Madeline Island one day of our weekend trip to Bayfield. We rented the scooters on the island and that was very fun! If you aren't camping on the island I feel like there isn't a lot to do. There is a beach and some hiking trails but not much else. We... More

There were lots of dining options for lunch. We brought our motorcycle over on the ferry. It was a nice ride around the island. We didn't want to pay the extra to go ride through the state park though.
