Personally I like wagering on the dog races. They add a sense of excitement cheering for your dog to finish first(feels like I'm at a Buckeyes game). I prefer the trifecta box as it gives me the most options for the money. Wheeling Island offers greyhound races, slot machines, and now gambling tables. The facility has a variety of options... more

My husband and I have been to many casinos. We live in Buffalo and visit Niagara Falls and Canada, as well as the two nearby racetracks. We've been to Turning Stone in Syracuse and Seneca Alleghany, Vegas and AC. We rate Wheeling Island as one of our favorites. We were there this weekend and did well on Saturday and terrible... more

My friends and I aren't big gamblers but we like to have a little fun. We weren't looking to win big, but we won and we had a great experience. I turned $40 into $300 on the slots and tables within an hour. Table minimums were at the lowest $10. There's a nonsmoking part of the casino as well as... more

Reading some of the reviews, we were leery of visiting this casino. But, we went ahead and we were pleasantly surprised!. The casino was clean and not very smoky in most areas. While waiting for our number to be called for the buffet we played the slots and won enough to pay for our dinner. The buffet is very good... more

I had passed through Wheeling umpteen hundred times when travelling to see family in Dayton Ohio, and I knew they had slots; but I'm really not much for just shaking hands with one-armed bandits. But, coming back from (of all things) my Dad's funeral I noticed they were advertising a full casino, so I stopped in to try and cheer... more

This was our first stop on a long weekend of exploring and I was pleasently surprized with the cleanliness of the casino and the restrooms. The hotel rooms were nice and big. Well insulated so you could not hear your neighbors tv. I was very surprized. The slots were tight and the card tables are okay. They need to have... more

Terrible place after traveling from Pa to visit Wheeling Island. Rudest employees ever! Dropped $600 dollars in 5 hours and machines were very tight! Had to hunt down a berverage server and most employees were rude, would not look at you. When I asked for an ashtray from someone cleaning them a few steps away, he told me us smokers... more

I went to Wheeling Island on November 8, 2008. I just wanted to say that I think the slots are very tight!!!! I lost $300 dollars in about 4 hours of playing the slots. My husband and I were there in August and again lost to the tune of about $500. As I read in other reviews it is very... more

Most of the staff one deals with directly have obviously been trained to be friendly and courteous with the customers. However, any other staffers that one might meet or observe are clearly not aware that their jobs depend on there being customers, as they seem cold as ice, rarely even speaking to you or acknowledging you. We've been visiting casinos... more
