I brought a friend of mine who has an extreme fascination with red pandas for the ultimate animal encounter. I knew not to expect this zoo to be anything real fancy, but it was nice to be able to look at the animals when it wasn't crowded and I didn't have to worry about fighting with anyone. I typically go... More

I have been to many larger zoos and that is my preference but I have to say this zoo was very nice considering it is in a small area. There are many animals to see inside and out. At about the halfway point are the bird and kangaroo areas as well as a small shop where you can "mine for... More

We are from the Pittsburgh Area and are members of both the Pittsburgh Zoo and the Oglebay Good Zoo. My daughter also attends Summer Camp at both and by far she prefers the Oglebay Good Zoo. It is a wonderful place with lots of great folks working there. Everyone is very friendly and because she has spent so many summers... More

We're local to the zoo, so we frequently go here because of that. But if we were not I would not recommend driving too far to only visit the zoo. If you're already in the area, sure, it's nice for the family. There aren't many "large" animals. Zebras, kangaroos, llamas, 1 bear. There's a barn with an owl, donkeys, pigs.... More

This zoo has indoor and outdoor exhibits. There is also a model train display. There are several hills, so be prepared. Not crowded. Loved feeding the birds with cups of nectar and panning for gemstones! There are animated dinosaurs that roar, which seems a bit strange at a zoo, but I'm sure the young children would love them. You can... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. The endangered wild dogs are currently off exhibit caring for their three very rare, 5-week-old pups, on display soon. We regret that you missed the sign and small video camera that showed them in the den: we are working on better guest viewing into the den. We are sorry you... More

This is a nice small zoo and always good for a walk around. Do check the weather before you go. If it is icy or too cold they close the outside exhibits but do not give any discount. Especially good for families with young children.

This zoo was nice to visit with our 2 year old grand daughter on a Sunday afternoon. She loved the train ride! We walked the outer loop around the zoo and was able to see all the animals. I felt that the playground area needs new mulch; it was muddy and puddled under the swings. The zoo is very hilly... More
