Cool stop

We stopped for lunch and had great sandwich and enjoyed some live music. The fiddle has a hippie vibe to it and there is live music every Saturday afternoon for free!

What a great place for an aussie to go. Food great. Had a Chicken and veggie korna for $8.95. Worth every cent. Service is quick. The band Roosevelt Dime, outstanding. So come along for some footapping fun. $12 cover charge. Cheap night out for a lot of fun.

Not only is the Purple Fiddle an amazing venue to see a show (and they offer so many amazing bands: folk, bluegrass, etc.), but they have a good food, ice cream, and beer selection as well. Situated in a fantastic little town, this bar/venue is a great place to spend an evening. They have a basic hotel/hostel next door that... More

Christine was great - she made the Stew and although we tried to pack some up togo, the bikes wouldn't allow it on the trail - so sad! Never disapppointed by the staff or the menu at the Purple fiddle!

I've been traveling for the past 3 weeks along back roads looking for music, and this place hands down my favorite spot to rest my weary head for a night....AND I was here off season with no music and most shops shuttered. Owner out of town....and I just loved the place. He just gets it, so deeply gets it: how... More

Loved the crowd, the music was fun, the food good... a nice stop there. Space clean and well cared. The bottled beers are better than their drafts.

Came to the Purple Fiddle 11 years ago on our first weekend away together when we had just started dating. Returned this weekend with our two kids! Still the same great atmosphere and music. Love the friendly people and great music. Watched a free lunchtime show this afternoon. A couple days ago we had dinner there and watched Cabinet do... More

My husband and I stopped here on our drive down to Florida. Thomas is a unique town and the purple fiddle is the perfect place to enjoy some good food, drinks and live blue grass music! We stayed in the guest house next door, a charming old house that added to the wv experience. We will be back in the... More

Fantastic little bit of culture and funkyness in mountains of WV. Had a fabulous evening and can't wait to return. Great music, food and atmosphere.
