This is a great ski resort. There are tons of trails, and at night, it turns into a snowmobile course. They also have cabins where you can stay right on the slopes.

I went to Snowshoe Mountain TWICE in March, and ONCE in April (2013). Even though it was spring conditions, we had a WONDERFUL time! The snow was still very good, and the resort was not terribly crowded.

As others have said, if you typically ski out west, you need to come with the proper expectations. We just returned from SnowShoe Resort. We went for the "last hurrah" the ski conditions were great, better than Breckenridge was in January. I just got into snowboarding last year and the slopes here are almost twice as long as the local ones in my area. It was only 4-5 hour drive from DC so considering the convenience and how affordable it was I can't complain.
