Our first impression of Snowshoe was strange, since the check-in parking lot was enormous, and it was completely empty. We wondered if we were the only people staying there. The front desk staff assured us that we weren't. When they saw that we had booked a condo far away from the village, we were offered a great upgrade for a... More

We just returned from a week in the mountain resort of Showshoe, West Virginia. Plenty of things to do for the kids and a lot of hiking for the entire family. Lots of activities for the entire family on top of Snowshoe and expecially for the kids. For the older group, mountain biking is a big recreation. Riding the chair... More

We came for the RoadRunner magazine Tour Weekend. Stayed in the Rimfire Lodge. Great location, incredible local roads to ride but the Lodge is in desperate need of updating/maintenance. Phone in room was non-functional, outdoor trim and railings were rotting/falling off, NO WI FI!!! and no cell service unless you are with AT&T.

My wife and I stayed at Rimfire Lodge room # 419 for the Snowshoe Fire on the Mountain Chili Cook-Off. For a fun time you don't want to miss this. It takes place every year around the second week of July. This is a good place to bring the little ones as well. Village central is the best place to... More

Taking the lift down to Shaver Lake and paddle boating was properly the highlight of our visit. Housekeeping service was sporadic. No cell phone service in the area.

The hotel is not new. But the staff was super friendly. It has a window air conditioner which is ok little noisy. The next morning they serve breakfast. They have the usual cereal, some fruit and biscuit and gravy. The lodge gives you ski passes to ride the ski lifts which is nice even though we were there in June... More

Lived and skied in WV all my life. By far the best ski resort in WV and surrounding areas. With winter sports, comes winter weather. Gets very cold on the mountain and can receive a foot or more snow in a matter of days. Only downfall of the resort is the location. It is surrounded by national forest land, so... More

My wife, nephew and I went to Snowshoe Ski Resort this past New Years Day week for 3 days of skiing. While the skiing was good, there were a few disappointments with the lodging.  When we booked our reservation, we were assured that the pull out sofa bed in our room had a Full Size Queen mattress. While it was a... More

A Memorial Day weekend visit to Snowshoe, WV did not disappoint! Perfect weather (highs in the upper 70s, lows in the low 50s), clear skies, wonderful roads, and good food and sightseeing! GREAT mountain roads for motorcyclists with plenty of pull outs to view spectacular scenery. The resort itself is well kept, friendly folks, good food (albeit a bit pricey),... More

Outside of going way north, or way west, Snowshoe is probably your best choice for skiing around here. They took over Silvercreek a long time ago, and there are a ton of options for every ski level. If you're black diamond level, I would suggest spending a decent portion of your day on the other side of the mountain (Cupp... More
