Planned a quick trip to the mountain to get some skiing in before the holiday based on the weather they'd been getting and the amount of terrain they had open. We also decided on Snowshoe due to the new terrain based training area they have. My son (6 yrs. old) was signed up for an all-day lesson so we had... More

There is no question that snow shoe provides the best skiing or snowboarding around but instead of shelling out 500$ a night for the resort hotel just drive 40 min to the closest hampton inn for 90$ a night. That will save u a ton and maybe lenthen your vacation.

Visited snowshoe at Thanksgiving (Wednesday to Saturday). Great resort and great snow. Very friendly. Wednesday and Thursday were awesome: loads of snow, very few people. Friday and Saturday was really crowded: they only had a couple of lifts open, despite there being loads of snow. Soaring Eagle lift and slopes were not open, so we had to take the shuttle... More

Spent Thanksgiving weekend in a rented condo with family. Everybody enjoyed the skiing. The shops were nice as were the restaurants. We would come back. Prices were what one would expect for a resort.

We had a blast! The power went out for the entire town and all the people working had a plan and jumped on it right away. Diverted us to another lift, and this was pretty much our only glitch. I loved the friendliness of the employees. Everyone treated us like family. Laughed and picked me up when I slipped on... More

We went there a few years ago my Husband and our Son. We had a great time, loved the Village set up and atmosphere. I'm not big on skiing like my husband and Son but even I had a great time. Many different slopes to pick from. The Scenerey is beautiful and everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. We... More

We love to go to snowshoe with the family at Christmas. It is easy for us to get to from various parts of Va and it allows more ease of travel than heading out west. The kids ages 8 to 16 have plenty of slope room and we have had great experiences with their instructors. The one thing I wish... More

We are not skiiers, but being there during the winter season makes you think you are in the Swiss Alps. I have only seen this type scenery on TV or in books, catalogs, etc. We were there in the winter months and the snow hanging on the evergreen trees is absolutely breath-taking. We saw lots of deer, some bucks with... More

They are trying to make resort a year-round affair. They have added many summer activities. Weather is gorgeous, views are unbeatable, and atmosphere is peaceful!
