Great little community to relax after snowboarding or skiing. Plenty of places to relax after the day. Designers did a good job on making sure streets are not too packed during the season. Make it a stop at some point. Great bunny slope and instructors for the kids.

This is a great ski resort. There are tons of trails, and at night, it turns into a snowmobile course. They also have cabins where you can stay right on the slopes.

I have been snowboarding for over 15 years and I can honestly say that snowshoe is the best around. Beside some of the prices and spotty cell service, Because of the Green Bank observatory a few miles away, I always have a great time. The mountain can get crowed during peak times but they also have silver creek ski area... More

I went to Snowshoe Mountain TWICE in March, and ONCE in April (2013). Even though it was spring conditions, we had a WONDERFUL time! The snow was still very good, and the resort was not terribly crowded.

As others have said, if you typically ski out west, you need to come with the proper expectations. That said, we were extremely lucky to be there the last week of March, when they had wonderful powder conditions and almost 5 feet of snow for the month. They extended the season (which is good and bad, more later...) We stayed... More

We just returned from SnowShoe Resort. We went for the "last hurrah" the ski conditions were great, better than Breckenridge was in January. We stayed at the Mountain Lodge, not the best choice but comfortable. The only real drawback is the bedroom has a window leading into the hallway. Not a big deal but the shade was not adequate and... We were lucky, had great snow right before our trip and light (but constant) replenishment while we were there (early March). We were very happy with the conditions, with skiers ranging from first-timers (4 and 31 years old) to highly experienced skiers. This is not Colorado or Utah, but if you live nearby (Georgia for us), it is significantly less... More

Recently took a 4 day trip to Snowshoe for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised by the slopes. There are a couple of runs in the Western territory that were like being out west and were true black and double black diamonds. The other runs were a decent length and certainly were better than any place I've been to... More

My husband and I drove from Knoxville for the weekend. We had so much fun, we decided to stay an extra night. Hardly a line at all for the lifts...over 8 inches of snow at the end of March! We bought season passes for the next season for $249. Our junior suite at The Expedition was updated and tastefully decorated.... More

I just got into snowboarding last year and the slopes here are almost twice as long as the local ones in my area. It was only 4-5 hour drive from DC so considering the convenience and how affordable it was I can't complain.
