Start with an 11,000 acre playground serving up the best of the mountains, however you like it. Your days here are like having dessert first. Our Village is situated atop the mountain and gives you access to spa-ing, shopping and even dancing. It all feels better at 4,848 feet.

Good skiing for moderate size East Coast

Snowshoe Mountain Resort has great lifts, good east coast trails, mostly helpful staff, and decent rentals. Lines get a little long on weekends.

I have only been skiing for a few years but Snowshoe is by far the best skiing I have encountered. The mountain is a little intimidating at first when you realize you have to actually read the map and take the right trails/take a bus to end up at the right place sometimes, but once you get comfortable with it,... We decided to take a last minute trip to Snowshoe for a weekend (Feb 27-March 1) as we are passholders at another Intrawest resort (Steamboat) and had "snow bucks" to use. I will review lodging and food in a separate review and stick to the skiing here. We were blessed with a beautiful day Saturday, perfect skiing weather sunny around... More

We were there Feb 25th-Feb 28th. Powder day on the 27th! Western Territory is THE TRUTH. It's as good as many spots in Colorado and Utah without as much vertical. Runs are steep and no bad cat walks which are energy suckers for snowboarders. Tree riding is o.k. but not Steamboat or Vail. The best east coast I have seen.

The snow/ski conditions were incredible and this is a first class East Coast ski resort. The number and condition of trails for all skill levels, high speed lifts, equipment, and other considerations were top notch. Even for a novice skier like myself, this was an excellent choice for a late winter vacation. Be careful when making reservations for accommodations, the... More

Snowshoe is the best ski resort in the mid-atlantic regions. They have the most runs, the most vertical drop, the most varied terrain and the best resort atmosphere. The only problems with snowshoe is it's proximity to anything- it's a long drive, their fairly high cost for lift tickets and lodging, and their tendency to get very crowded on holiday... More

OK! So my experience is limited to Scotland, French Alps and Cataloochie, North Carolina, and this resort certainly ticked every box. We arrived during a whiteout. We arrived very early, due to the poor weather conditions. Check in staff, and rentals staff were very helpful. After lunch we wandered over to Soaring Eagle and the clerk looked on her system,... My boyfriend and I visited President's weekend and had a wonderful time despite the freezing conditions, we actually enjoyed it! We came up from Pittsburgh so for us Snowshoe skiing conditions are great compared to the resorts in Pennsylvania, and its only about a 4 hour drive. We stayed in the Rimfire Lodge which is very convenient to skiing, restaurants,... More

We didn't read reviews before we booked we always read reviews but we didn't this time and boy did we mess up. If you stay I would recommend the village part of the resort. It's NEW! We stayed at Silver Creek horrible nasty not up to date at all... Our balcony door was blowing snow through so we had to... More

Currently on my 4th trip to Snowshoe over the past 7 yrs... It was a last minute trip and we had no issue getting a room with short notice during the week. Because of our travel and availability, we ended up staying 1 night at expedition station and Allegheny springs - both in the village. Past trips have included a... More
