We had a terrific 5 days at Snowshoe in January! The snow wasn't terrific, but the runs remained groomed, lifts were open even with rain/sleet, and they made snow like crazy when they could. The blue and black runs are quite easy by Western standards, but great fun and you can get a pretty long run going. We liked how... More

Snowshoe has decent runs and a cute little village. But, it seems to have outgrown itself and cannot handle the massive crowds. There's only 2 high speed lifts and if there's an icy rain, these shut down, leaving only 3 slow, old-fashioned lifts to handle throngs of people. The "lifties" are friendly, and efficient, but the sheer number of skiers... More

The "resort" does not have enough lift capacity and the lift operators are not competent or well trained. There are some good ones but most of the lift operators are not well trained and simply don't care. If it takes 2 hours longer for you to drive to another resort, do it, it will be worth it Everything is overpriced... More

While the skiing at Snowshoe was okay, everything else about the place was ridiculous. The accomodations were aweful. I got a room that "comfortably" sleeps four for my two kids, wife, and myself. We were unbelievably cramped in our slightly larger than a walk in closet accommodation. Housekeeping was terrible. I had to actually go out and buy my own... More

Just returned from our MLK visit with high school son, 7 of his friends and 3 other parents. No comment on resort accomodations - the lobbies I was able to visit did seem a bit outdated and worn, but also seemed full of people having a good time - our group of 12 found a nice private house/lodge on Westridge... I've been visiting Snowshoe since I was little. This was the second time I've taken my family there. We went 5 years ago and had a fun time and had been wanting to go back. We were finally able to do so this year. We arrived on a Monday, skied Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and left on Friday. I made all... More

Our stay at the Seneca was a health hazard. First room checked in had coils coming through the bed mattress and the pull out couch had no mattress. Management was not helpful and told us to sleep in one bed because no additional mattresses and roll away bed were available. Next day management changed us to a two bedroom suite... More

Lift rates are high and the mountain can get insanely crowded. The trails are thin and can be a bit dangerous. If the conditions are right and you go during the week it can't be beat. Weekends you might end up waiting 2 hours for pizza and lift lines in the 20-30 minute range. Nice that an all day lift... More

I've been skiing for 27+ years, I have visited Snowshoe for 5 years, and my experience tells that the Snowshoe management (Intrawest) is a complete failure. My dreadful experience of a lift operator (dictator, rather) was racism, threatening, and seizing when I tried to ride a lift with my two under 10 children. The operator's name was noted and the... We love the instructor at the ski school for my grandson he did very well with him. The places to stay are good we have learned to bring our own food since the restaurant prices are high. My only problem is the lift operators some need more training one almost injured me when they slow down the chair a few... More
