Finally made it to Snowshoe the week before it closed for the season, and absolutely loved it. Lucked out with the weather as it remained cold in addition to a whole day's worth of fresh snow. Slope condition was fabulous, and the resort was about 20% full so never more than 20-30 people at any of the lifts (can imagine... More

For the Mid-Atlantic east coast, this is probably one of the better ski/snowboard areas. We arrived on a Friday evening and planned to snowboard all Saturday and part of Sunday, and then depart Sunday afternoon. There was a short wait at check-in Friday night...there were 2 groups ahead of me and I waited approximately 25 minutes. I really wished we... More

A little expensive, considering the terrain. If you can afford to go to Colorado, go. I went on a busy weekend, and the wait at the bottom of the lifts were 2-4 times longer than it took to ski back down. I get that you can only have so much vertical area to ski, but it was a bit of... More

Started off quite frustrating...Confusing check in location, 30 minute check in process only to find out @ 6:30pm, the room was not ready. Eventually got in about 9:30pm. To their credit, I got comp'd $65 of food credits for Dinner that night, but glad I did not have small kids at the time. Ski rental closed at 6pm the night... More

Went with 7 and 9 year old for their first ski experience. All day school was well worth it. They both had a good foundation after the school. We even ran into their instructor the next day on a green hill and he stopped to encourage and instruct. Major kudos to John for helping us get down the mountain. Lack... More

We stayed in a studio at the Seneca. Great place. We had plenty of room and the hot tub was great. We decided to extend our stay and were transfered to Allegeny. It was much smaller and noisy, The provisions store was great to pick up some basic grocery items. All the restaurants were good ( we ate at most... More

Snowshoe Resort has so much going for it but still manages to come up short on some pretty important things. The mountain, trails, snowmaking and lifts are very good for this latitude. Snowshoe's marketing department does a bang-up job in promoting the resort with a great email campaign, season pass specials and special events. Their recent Ballhooter Spring Break events... More

We have been skiing at Snowshoe for 20+ years. I love it. We haven't been out of the southeast skiing, so keep that in mind. Snowshoe had changed a lot in the time we have been coming. The changes in lodging are very nice, but with that comes much more expensive trips. The slopes are great. They have added a... More

For me, the most notable feature of Snowshoe was the poor signage. Regardless of whether you were skiing, driving, or walking, it was hard to find your way around. Also, the bus system made no sense. You would have to take the bus across half the resort, then be dropped off and wait for another bus to take you across... More

"Expensive" is what comes to mind when I think of Snowshoe, but it's a great family vacation for skiing. The resort is at least one hour from civilization so you're going to pay extra for food and everything else which has to be brought in. There's no cellular service, but maybe we should all escape once in awhile to a... More
